Also…in case you didn’t realize it…anyone can die from sex…but then you probably think gays are the only ones that can contract certain sexually transmitted diseases…or worse, maybe you believe it is God’s revenge on the sinners. ROFL

So it's possible that the CA Courts took Prop 8 a little "personally". And there ruling that Prop 8 was "unconstitutional", could be translated as, "How dare you? We will not be checked!"

That court should have recused itself from deciding the Prop 8 challenge.

The court is doing what it was put in place to do...like it or not.

He who does not remember the past is condemned to repeat it. The irony is that, for instance, Baptists were not allowed to perform their own weddings in Anglican colonies and they had to pay taxes to support Anglican ministers. It is so easy for people to ignore the fact that their own ancestors were oppressed and jump at the chance to oppress someone else. Doing it in the name of God just adds to the irony.

We're talking about the Ninth Circus here .... and they are definitely doing waht the were" put in place to do" ... ie., ... rubber stamp every Leftist Idea that comes across their desk.

Being made up of 9 or so Western states it is the largest Circuit. There has long been discussions of dividing it.

I hope people realize that if SCOTUS takes this up they will only decide on whether the action of the 9th circuit was a proper decision.

The side that does not like the outcome will not get to re-argue their case.

Discretion is the better part of valor.

I am so sick of the opposition to SSM and even civil unions being portrayed as a defense of marriage or worse, as compassion or a concern for public health and welfare, by people who subsequently run for the exits or engage in snarling ad-homs the minute they are asked for data in support.

I would love to respond to it, but the rules of the forum prevent me.

I do believe that you like to talk about SSM only in the abstract. The abstract of civil rights, discrimination, but you don't want to talk about the realities of it.

The reality is that literally on Day 2 the educational curricula will be changed. That curricula will all but promote SS relationships as not disordered in any way. Even the CDC recommends a condom rather than a straight or celibate lifestyle, lest they suggest the behavior is disordered or harmful.

This teaching (some of which I've posted videos showing the written materials) will cast confusion into young minds (i.e. 6 to 9 years old). They will be encouraged to wonder which orientation they are, and feel the need to experiment with both, when the time comes.

Just like you can get pregnant the first time, you can get aids the first time. And unnecessary experimentation encouraged by a fog cast upon students is not something I want to buy into so you can get on a group health plan with a discount.

The reality is within a few years HIV will be a bigger problem than it already is. (50% of all cases are due to MSM*.) I even cynically wonder if a pandemic is the goal, the reasoning being that a true crisis will force a cure, whereas now the "right" people don't get the disease to cause a true effort at a cure to be made.

But these issues go to gayness and not the cleansed abstraction that is all that is suitable for USN&P.

*MSM = men having sex with men
