What we don't know is who threw the first punch and what the circumstances under which it was done were. When that evidence is presented in court the jury will make the decision.

If you were the prosecutor in this case, doing the evidence dump that she did last week, would you have withheld any evidence that Zimmerman threw the first punch?

I have not seen what was in the evidence drop, so I can't state what I may or may not have done differently. Could you provide a link? I can say that any evidence that was given to the court should not be released to the public because it could wrongly influence those who will make up the potential jury pool.

BTW, Stardove, Teilhard, MM, Drawout (et al.): You have already decided that Zimmerman should be convicted (of something), correct?

In other words, you would be struck from the jury due to your lack of impartiality.

I didn't see your question mindis till just now.  Most likely I would not be able to serve on the jury in this case.  Why?  I do not believe Zimmerman acted in self defense which is what he is claiming. Most of all because I don't live in Florida.

It seems to me a young man stood his ground after being followed by a stranger.  I'm not sure this case will ever get before a jury.  It would not surprise me, if Zimmerman took a plea deal instead of going to trial.

Breaking News:  Looks like Zimmerman could be headed back to jail.

Judge revokes bail for George Zimmerman in Trayvon Martin case

A Florida judge Friday revoked the bail for George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case, saying he had misled the court about his finances, and ordered him to present himself to the court within 48 hours.

Prosecutors alleged that Zimmerman, 28, misled the court regarding his finances when $150,000 bail was granted April 20 and accused him of holding a second U.S. passport that he did not surrender to the court. Zimmerman is facing second-degree murder charges in the shooting death of Martin, 17, in February.

Exactly my Point, you see ...

The MURDERED Trayvon Martin CANNOT press his own Case or speak up to tell HIS Account of Events the Night he was MURDERED ...

So now his FAMILY and the wider Community and The State of Florida are seeking JUSTICE for him ...

That's my Point, you see ... "Equal Protection," and all that ... He's ENTITLED to it, even AFTER he's DEAD ...

I find it ASTONISHINGLY inhumane that The George "Night Stalker" Zimmerman Fan Club SEEMS to be claiming that the late Trayvon Martin -- AND his bereaved Family --  should now  JUST  GO  AWAY  since The Kid is now simply DEAD-DEAD-DEAD ... (NOW that he's DEAD he is no longer a "Person" and so NOW has NO "Right" to JUSTICE ... ??? as if a "Lynching" by 9mm is now taken to be LEGAL ... ???) ...

On the Face of it, it sounds to me like The Florida "Hunting Humans" Law gives WAY too much immediate Credibility to ANY Claim of Self Defense (relying as it does on the Shooter's reported "Fear" and NOT on the Shooter's ACTIONS) ... THAT it seems to me IS a Denial of "Due Process" for The VICTIM of the Shooting ..

Good lord, Teilhard, look up the term “due process”. From dozens of sources you could discover that due process applies only to legal persons. A dead person cannot begin accumulating violations to his/her due process rights.

Nothing that Floridian legislators did deprived Trayvon Martin of any due process rights. Indeed, if you had bothered to read the Constitution, you would have discovered that the phrase used in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments is “due process of law”.

Your claim here is so far from earth that it’s hard to know where to begin a response.

Obviously for a neighborhood watch volunteer, who has already called and summoned the police, to get out of his car within his own gated community, to follow someone he has already reported to police, in order to see where this person has gone, is not evidence of his having instigated or escalated any altercation.

Obviously it is.

It turns out that not only did George "Night Stalker" Zimmerman LIE to The Court in his Bail Hearing about his available Cash Assets, he also surrended (only) ONE of his TWO (!!!) Passports ...

... and it's even worse that that ... It turns out that he surrendered an EXPIRED Passport to The Court, and had obtained a NEW one just  TWO  DAYS  after he murdered Trayvon Martin ... and then, rather than turning THAT (new) Passport over to The Court, he handed it over to his ATTORNEY ...

I don't think The Judge is going to be HAPPY about ANY of this ...
