There is an Israeli lobby media buzzsaw coming at 60 Minutes over this piece. Even economist and Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Krugman commented on the dangers of disagreeing with Israel in this recent post in the NYT April 24, 2012, 2:54 PM The Crisis of ZionismThe truth is that like many liberal American Jews — and most American Jews are still liberal — I basically avoid thinking about where Israel is going. It seems obvious from here that the narrow-minded policies of the current government are basically a gradual, long-run form of national suicide — and that’s bad for Jews everywhere, not to mention the world. But I have other battles to fight, and to say anything to that effect is to bring yourself under intense attack from organized groups that try to make any criticism of Israeli policies tantamount to anti-Semitism. Miraj Even smart people can be wrong. Most of the professional "Liberal" establishment is wrong about Israel. They tend to take very un-liberal positions and support those who stand against liberal values - the Arab Palestinian apologists. What is sadder, is they often fail to even bother with obtaining the facts, sort of like CBS. |

Surely they realise what damage it is doing to the reputation of Jewish communities worldwide. It is kind of a thing everybody knows about and talks about but you must speak with hushed voice for fear a 'wrong' person will hear you. This is going back to the dark ages.

>>>>>>>>> Exactly, for some fanatics it taints a much larger Jewish population world wide. It is immoral and against "American values" to force people not to speak. Palestinian Chrisrtians are under assult by expantionist zionist policies of Israeli givernment. CBS only shared that news with people. The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee is standing behind CBS for being brave and speaking the truth against an assult by fanatic supporters of current Israeli policies. Here is what they said...
Thank 60 Minutes for Segment on Palestinian Christians Last night, 60 Minutes aired a segment entitled “Christians of the Holy Land” that offered American viewers an unprecdented look into the lives and circumstances of Palestinian Christians and warned about the potential effects of, among other things, Israel’s occupation, wall and policies toward Palestinians on the continued presence of Christians in the Holy Land. It alerted viewers to the fact that, if continued, these policies will likely lead to the end of a Christian presence in the birthplace of Christianity itself. The segment, which can be seen here, was undoubtedly eye-opening to many Americans who have, for too long, remained unaware of the conditions suffered by Palestinian Christians, the self-described “living stones” of the Holy Land. The segment was also notable in that the Israeli Ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, called the Chairman of CBS News and the Executive Producer of 60 Minutes to protest the reporting of the piece, before it was even aired, a fact that veteran 60 Minutes correspondent, Bob Simon, noted in the segment and about which he confronted Ambassador Oren on air, saying that he had never received such a call in his many years as a journalist. The disclosure of the Israeli Ambassador’s attempt to prevent the segment from even airing offered Americans a revelaing look into the kind of censorship and behind-the-scenes efforts to stifle public discourse about Israeli occupation and discrimination that the Israeli government and its American supporters have practiced for many decades. In response to the segment, ADC President Warren David stated, “60 Minutes’ segment was an important contribution to our nation’s understanding of the appalling conditions of the Palestinian people in general and the tragic plight of Palestinian Christians in particular. While there were some aspects of the story that we would have liked to have seen emphasized more or less, overall, we found the segment to be a balanced, responsible and informative treatment of a very important subject to Americans, Christians and people the world over who wish to see a Holy Land that is not limited to people of one or another faith, but that instead reflects, celebrates and perpetuates the vibrancy and splendor of religious diversity.” ADC urges you to contact 60 Minutes to thank them for their courageous and important segment on Palestinian Christians by emailing them at 60m@cbsnews.com. ### NOTE TO EDITORS: The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), which is non-profit, non-sectarian and non-partisan, is the largest grassroots Arab-American civil rights and civil liberties organization in the United States. It was founded in 1980 by former Senator James Abourezk. ADC has a national network of chapters and members in all 50 states. |

I think CBS had to be very couragious to show parts of Zionist agenda to the world. Since it is very difficult to speak about this topic in America for political reasons. |

Not America alone. Most of the western countries are like one large playground and their ruling classes parrot each other. Luckily, now and then few brave souls stand up and speak out. They may be threatended, lose their job, but they are admired by the citizerns of the world who value freedom of thought/speech and dignity of man. |

Update on the discussion . . . although I doubt that the apologists for Arab Palestinian religious apartheid, racism and terror will pay any attention. |

I doubt that Israel's apologists will be happy with anything that doesn't blame Muslims for everything. This guy is hardly objective. He's an official that represents evangelical Christians in Israel. Funny, in an 2008 article, Missionaries under threat in Israel, Parsons accused Jews of ". . . a series of incidents here in the land that involve harassment, intimidation and physical violence" against Messanic Jews, and said the test would be how vigorously Israeli authorities persued the crimes (sounding not so sure they would). Parsons is in Israel to represent the interests of a proselytizing faith that opposes other proselytizing faiths, like Islam. If he has to suck up to Israel's vision of itself, he will, for his mission. BTW, Bob Simon is Jewish. Doesn't his view of Israel count?

Miraj, you wrote: "BTW, Bob Simon is Jewish. Doesn't his view of Israel count?" BTW you are not Jewish. Does that mean that your view does not count? Habesor
