What a tempest in a teapot! Seems to me that someone somewhere is trying to stir up anti-Mormon feelings now that Mitt Romney is obviously going to be the GOP candidate for President.

I don't number many Mormons among my friends, but my former next-door-neighbours were Mormon. She taught at the local ballet company school, he was a photographerr. Their marriage was very equal (he was a super cook) and very stable. The only other Mormon couple I know also have a stable marriage, and the wife works outside the home.

As far as missionaries go, I've had young Mormon women mission teams knock on my door.

While I question much of the Mormon theology, I commend the LDS for their family-centred teachings, and their financial commitment to their church.

Thanks for the kind words

Voice; Why would anyone want to attack Ann Romney?

Politics, of course. Part of the   "war on women" strategy.

There is a certain type of thinking that sees shuffling paper from one desk to another in an office as real work, as opposed to the meaningless task of raising a family and good human beings  with proper values as "inferior" and just a way to spend idle time.

A lot of people seem to buy it, so they attempted to use it as part of the campaign

I think it blew up  in their face big time, though.

As a Mormon Mitt would look on each and every woman as a beloved daughter of God, his spiritual sister and a potential Goddess.

Are you saying that Mitt would treat women as: "potential" Goddesses? It sounds like you're saying:...some women can become goddesses; what do they have to do to achieve that title?

Now wouldn’t you want to be treated like that?

I can honestly say, no! I wouldn't want to be treated like a godess because that would make me think I was equal with God.

Also, when you say...your sisters-in-laws went on missions...

are you saying they went door-to-door? I have never seen women go door to door. Can you explain why they don't go door to door?

Didn't Rick start that verbal war?

I really don't think women's issues blew up in the democrats faces. I'm pro-life. But, after the silliness...I think the far-right-teaparty people, should change the title to: pro-live birth; becaue after a baby is born they could care-less.

The way Mitt dismisses any mention of women's issues, caused me to look up his beliefs when it comes to a woman's place in the world.  www.exmormon.org/mormwomn.htm

In my opinion Mitt Romney thinks women are second class citizens. He should be forced to seek a woman to be his VP (running mate).

I don't think he'll do it because it would be against his "religion." What say you?

What's puzzling is why you would attempt to tie Romney into someone else's paper. Nowhere is Romney mentioned, nor does that reflect his views. Your attitude is not puzzling however, just another lefty bashing someone who has a different view.

Yes, Willard is going to be the presumptive nominee (at least until the convention). I need to understand why he doesn't value women; I need to know why. I'll have to reseach his train of thought. I don't want anyone who thinks they will one day rule the world, to become the President of the United States of America. That's a scary thought to me.

I'm not a "lefty" (whatever that means). I've been an independent for a year; before that I was a republican. (I don't stay on teams full of hate.) And, yes, I have much respect for President Obama.  Everyone has a right to their own views but not their own facts. What the ex-mormon says are not my words. I'm the one asking the question...why does Mitt devalue women???

Well the plan is the same for both men and woman; God’s plan was to make us in his image after all. If you really want an answer come over the Mormon welcome page.

Yeah I believe they do, it is a little dangerous. Some go on humanitarian missions. My Filipino daughter in-law went on a mission in her home country. Right now she and my son have a mission calling up at the langue training mission teaching Cebuano to new missionaries.

Latter Day Saints(Mormons) do not believe they will rule THE WORLD in the hereafter;  They will divinely  rule a world
