This guy is too good to be true.

Here.

I thought running against St. Sarah or St. Rick would be a gas but this Romney guy looks just as easy.

He not only doesn't get it. He doesn't even realize he doesn't get it.

I will give the Richey Rich Candidate of the Wingo Party this credit:  When it comes to suffering, as in war or unemployment, he doesn't get it.

No change there.

Mittens is upset with Obama for the open mic with the Russian.    He acts like we are still in the cold war with the Russians.

Maybe he tipped his hand about the cold war.    You know if we leave Iraq and Afghanistan and don't start a war with Iran,Syria or IOW quit the whole war of terror we would need to re ignite the cold war with the USSR, smirk.      We have to have some faceless enemy in order to continue the war monger economy.

and for further clarification I am not protecting Obama and blaming Bush.  The entire political process is nothing more than a boondoggle and pay for play.   Not only has it been going on for a long time but has achieved epic levels and will get worse with each succeeding presidency.

Romney ... The gift that just keeps on giving!

You ever get the feeling that the Republican party is deliberately trying to lose the general election?

why wouldn't they?      I think they deliberately put up a weak candidate in 2008 because they did not want the onus of fixing what they had wrought.  They still blame Obama for what he inherited.    They were calling for a one term presidency in the first month he was in.      They still are not willling to step in mid recovery, if they were they would have put up a serious slate.     They  want to step in when things are better like GW did with the budget surplus that Clinton left him.   The indicators are that the economy is improving.    just finished reading this article.

They continue to spout their tired talking point of Obama is hurting the energy industry even though we are at record numbers of drilling and energy exploration and production.

It certainly appears plausible.

OTOH, McCain was (IMO) the best of the bunch in 2008.  Had they not saddled him with Palin he may have had a chance.   And, at that time they and many other people expected that McCain would have been running against Clinton.  So, the choice of a competent female VP running mate was probably an excellent move.  However, as we now know...Palin did not fit those two requirements.

Now, in 2012 I believe Mitt is the best of the bunch once again.  Paul, Gingrich, Santorum have no chance of being elected in a national election.

Some were calling him a one term president before the electoral college vote was certified and some praying for his failure before he took office.  Hillary was supposed to be the Democratic nominee so a Clinton could be a scapegoat.

The dems could have run Bozo the Clown in 2008 and won.  The economic meltdown was still in Bush's hands.

The smartest guy in a clown car is still a clown. Romney may be the best guy for the Republicans today, but his primary opponents have so splattered him with the stain of the primaries, I doubt he can re-invent himself by the time the general election campaign is underway.  And I just don't see the Gingrich and Santorum supporters getting behind Romney with the kind of enthusiasm needed to win the White House.

The key to Obama's second term ( I do believe this will be) will rest on what happens in the congressional and senate races.  If the dems are able to take back the House, and gain a few seats in the Senate, he may very well be able to continue spurring the economy, reform the current tax inequities, and successfully wind down the Afghan war.

Obama had a phrase that he used more and more in the 2008 campaign:  "They said ..." And then he would show that they were wrong.

He would be wise to continue on the same way.

They said a black man could not win the nomination.  They said a black man could not be elected president.  They said four years of Obama would destroy America.  They said there would be many more successful terrorists attacks in the U.S. They said he would be weak on foreign policy.  They said the economy would not turn around.  They said it would be better to let millions of Americans lose their homes through foreclosure.  They said it would be better to let the auto industry go bankrupt and let the workers lose their jobs and homes..  They said it would be better to get rid of Medicare as we know it.  They said it would be better to privatize Social Security.  They said, they said, they said ...  They were wrong then and they are wrong now.

The American people chose Obama, with less than six years in the U.S. Senate and no foreign policy experience.  Now he has more foreign policy experience than any of the Republican candidates, and he has shown to be willing to 'pull the trigger' when necessary.  The economy is improving, unemployment is coming down, General Motors is more profitable than it has been in a generation.

What will the Republicans do?  Raise the birth certificate again?  Say Obama is the the most horrible president we have ever had?  Tell us he wants government bureaucrats to create 'Death Panels'?  Tell us he is 'coming for our guns'? Tell us he is a fascist and a communist?  Tell us he hates white people? Tell us he's secretly a Muslim cannibal? Tell us the answer to all our problems is to de-regulate every industry?  Tell us that millionaires and billionaires should have lower tax rates than the middle class and poor people? Tell us that people today who feed their kids using food stamps are just lazy? Tell that we ought to get rid of government oversight of Wall Street and banks? Tell us all we have to do to lower our gasoline bill is to 'drill, baby, drill'?

What have they got?  Seriously, what have the Republicans got?  A multi-millionaire with a record of liquidating businesses and laying off thousands of workers while he lined his own pockets? A candidate who has been on every side of every issue there ever was?  A candidate who made his millions as a corporate raider?

The American people know Obama better now than they did four years ago.  And they also know that nothing the opposition has said since 2008 is true.  Why would they believe them now?
