Hands down -the Irish.

I grew up in an extremely Irish town. (Butte, Montana.)

There's either a bar or a Catholic Church on just about every other corner.

And St. Paddy's day? A complete circus.

My husband is Irish and they do enjoy their alcohol, LOL.

All my friends who were Irish-American from high school, college and work were all heavy drinkers. One of high school friends died at 40 from complications due to alcohol. I once ased a college friend if he drank because he liked it or if it was expected because he was Irish. He couldn't answer that question.

Well, I'm not sure who is ahead, but I shall keep on competing on behalf of the good old US of A.

We American Episcopalians are NOT in contention.

BUT, my Irish-American wife proudly does her part to hold up the standards of all Irish-Catholic imbibers.
