The whole purpose of going into Afghanistan in the first place was to destroy terrorist trainin camps and capture Ben Laden If we stuck to that agenda the troops would have been home long ago.

Not to be, the Imbecile decided to invade Iraq for no apparent reason other than a "slam diunk" by a CIA idiot who didn't pay attention to his analysts.

The rest is history.

Well, that's what we were told was the reason for invading and occupying Afghanistan.

Obviously, there was/is more to it than that which wasn't/isn't shared with the regular people who have to foot the bills.  Part of it was (supposedly) to prevent Afghanistan from re-degenerating back into a "failed state" that could provide a "safe haven" for terrorists.

There are plenty of reasons why things are happening the way they are.  Nothing arbitrary about it. Actions  have to be put in context and not be fooled by simple minded explanations aimed at emotionalism and keeping the plebeins satisfied because  they  think it's about them.

So what?  Just raise the prices of the airplanes and the cereals we sell to the oil producers.
