It seems odd... but... as we are reminded constantly by the pro-Assad peanut gallery... everything reported is unconfirmed propaganda... Therefore people leaving to confirm it through impartial NGOs is avoided at all costs. The regime NEEDS things to remain unconfirmed... just as the Germans ramped up their death factories to full force when they realized the might actually lose... I expect the same in Syria as Assad's end nears.

The main issue is exactly that... The Syrian forces have been shooting people on the Lebanese and Turkish border areas trying to cross... the same would be true elsewhere.
The closest major area with problems to Golan... is probably Dera'a where it all started. Homs is far away in some ways.
As an American, I find it hard to understand why people are being shot for trying to leave the country, especially when they are fleeing open warfare. The United States is really quite easy to leave for those who find our governance unbearable. (Hint, hint, hint...)
For those who have faith, no explanation is neccessary. For those who have no faith, no explanation is possible.

Desperate Syrians Seeking Help For Wounded - Would Ask Israel If Assad Would Let Wounded Through Golan Crossings.
Kuwaiti TV Channel, Safa, reports that Argentine football player Lionel Messi generously donated money to treat 1,000 wounded Syrians and slams the Arab League for not having given money to treat any single person so far.
It sure says something when Arabs are so fed up with the lack of medical aid from the Arab world that they wich they could ask Israel who they know would give it.

Yes it is from MEMRI, see they really do bring positive Arab messages. What can be more positive than the Syrian opposition realizing that they would have a friend in Israel if they could only ask?
International Law requires that wounded POW's recieve medical care, therefore I would think that civilian refugees from a hostile nation would recieve similar aid.
My concern would be Syrian forces striking at these refugees who fled to Israel. That would almost certainly drag Israel into the fray.

Let's see, The last time the IDF occupied more Syrian land was in response to a Syrian surprise attack in 1973. As part of the agreement for a permanent cease fire Israel withdrew from all of the territory it occupied in 1973 and a bit of the Syrian territory taken in the 1967 war, a war which Syria instigated by making false claims of an IDF build up on its borders. Sherri, it seems to me that unless you know of some Syrian plan to attack Israel again, then there is little chance that the IDF will occupy any more Syrian territory. Habesor

The part in bold is the only reason MEMRI posted this. They love Arab on Arab conflict as much as they love Arab on Israel conflict. Don't be fooled, anything anti-Arab, anti-Israel pays their bills and lines their pockets. That's how the game is played, Rocky. And you call it positive.

There is no doubt that Israel would help this way. There is also no way Assad will allow it.

We can hope that he will not be in a position to decide very much longer.
