No ... Tom Malthus noticed this Problem Centuries ago, and Paul Ehrlich wrote a very distubing book, "The Population Bomb," back around 1970 ... We've known about this for a long time ... My Hunch is that we're headed for a Crash ...
Are we back to "the real problem is lacking condom use", Teilhard?

The current Human Population is about 7,000,000,000 -- about 5,000,000,000 more than The Earth can sustain ... We're in a LOT of Trouble and it has N-O-T-H-I-N-G to do with "Nukes" ...

I think we dropped 60 atomic bombs in the bikini atoll, and the people that were relocated want to move back. It is not a no-man's land. Don't give me the children's future bull, when you don't mind piling the debt on them that Obama has done, so they'll be on food stamps all their lives. They already have no future.

ALL Technologies have unfortunate, sometimes nasty, side-Effects ... The just-around-the-Corner Global Ecological CATASTROPHES have NOTHING to do with Nuclear Power Generation, but rather just about everything ELSE we've been doing for the last 200 Years ...
I don't mean to be argumentative but
AND Nukes in order to STOP the increasing poisoning of The Atmosphere ...
Nukes are the ultimate poison of the atmosphere and the earth and the water and the fish.

Yes, we need more WindFarms, but they also have serious down-side Effects ... In addition, they can be used only where and when there is plenty of reliable WIND ... One of the down-sides of THAT is that such Locations are not always in close Proximity to the Population Centers that NEED the Electrical Power ... Piping Electrical Power over long Distances has its own Drawbacks ... But, yes ... We need a MIX of Wind, Solar, Hydro, Geothermal, BioMass ... AND Nukes in order to STOP the increasing poisoning of The Atmosphere ...
Wind power is cheaper than nuclear energy by far. The bottom line here is that building wind turbines at sea is far cheaper than building expensive, dangerous nuclear power plants.
Offshore wind is cheaper than nuclear. And wind power is the fastest-growing energy generation industry in the world.
Nuclear reactors cost more to build, and they have higher operational and maintenance costs than wind turbines.
