Apparently the Syrian citizens by the hundreds who are sending out videos from their cellphones *also* see it as the murderous dictator - just like Daddy Assad who murdered civilians at Hama! - attacking unarmed civilian protestors with military-type weaponry. Could every one of all those transmissions be faked - I doubt it!
I also doubt that every 'Western' reporter is on the payroll of some 'conspiracy': that's just stupid BS, IMO.
Oh, it's definitely 'Imperial Iran' and its proxies against someone - but I doubt that 'someone' is KSA for many reasons. For one thing, all those women and kids don't seem to be Saudis.... And as I mentioned, the Assad dynasty has done this kind of wholesale slaughter of civilians before.

Since we're discussing the Golan - just how did Daddy Assad treat the Syrian people who became refugees rather than reside in areas under Israeli control? Did he hail them as heroes for choosing their nation over their lands? NO. He did *nothing* to help them and in fact blamed these refugees for not having fought off the IDF.
Which of course only made the effort to capture the Golan *after* years of shells being dropped on Israeli fields, kibbutzim, and kibbutzniks from mortars on the Heights. Israelis who were INside Israeli territory, NOT military sites - and hadn't taken anyone's land from them.... (RKen can fill you in on how easy it's NOT to attack entrenched artillery positions from below.....)
But setting those incontrovertible facts aside - what Amin said about 'selling' the Golan to Israel in exchange for being able to divert everyone's attention from his abuses, that's true. In fact, it should be done up as one of those commercials. The last line? "Whining rights over Israel's keeping the Golan - priceless"

Israel doesn't occupy the Golan heights: Assad sold it to them becuase having and excuse to have a problem with Israel was worth more to him as a way to keep his people focused on an outside enemy than peoples tradional homes.
I have no reason to believe that the "secret" document is a real document... nor is a 60 year old document in any way relative to the situation or proof of anything other than that there are those who will talk about anything including 60 year old potentially fake, and completely irrelevant documents...
If you want to make this a historical argument you will lose.

I am sure Assad is not that ignorant not to know what's going on. Russia and China know and they are sticking to their guns. They learned a hard lesson from what happened with Libya. Western countries know it is an old plan and working like a clockwork. While the innocent people of Syria as in Libya are paying the price.
