Its a funny road because, Evangelicals often disagree on who is in their group (do Charismatics qualify?) and end up compromising by putting conservative Catholics in power which is extreme irony for those are the people that were burning the ancestors of the evangelicals back in the old country

It kinda brings me back to the Article 6 argument.  It seems like it is becoming more of that every election.

Well, regardless of what religous group you can claim persecution.  I guess I've had the experience, either for good or bad, that I don't have a choice to choose a person of a theistic belief that I see as positive.  As such I've had to allow for a lot.
