I further report historian Humphrey McQueen's speech last Wednesday.

Do you believe in conspiracies? How did you get here? Did you wake up with the thought that it would be a good idea to have a protest meeting tonight about WikiLeaks? And you turned up here at 7 o'clock, on the off-chance that such a meeting might take place. Did it come to you in a dream, that you should be here? For this to happen, people had to send out messages, put up posters, and organise the meeting place. And that amount of organisation is needed for this.

So what must the US government do daily, to try to run the world?

The audience laughs.

They're not whispering--they're sending round cyclones! That's what they have to do to get their views out. Did all those financial companies spontaneously decide to cut off WikiLeaks? That's as likely as the news that they should do that, being delivered to them by an angel!

Conspiracy law has been around for six hundred years. The police find it useful. If they arrest you for being a petty thief--they'll also throw in "and conspiring to be a petty thief"! And if they particularly don't like you, they'll also throw in "resisting arrest". And if they have a real set on you, they might add a charge of "conspiring to resist arrest"!

Bradley Manning is going to be charged with "conspiring with person or persons unknown". Will one of these "known unknowns", be Julian Assange?

It's a hangover from the 1790s, to protect the British establishment against the forces of change in English society at the time. Shortly before this, Adam Smith was lecturing in Edinburgh. He said that laws and governments, were how the rich oppressed the poor!

Last Wednesday in Canberra, I attended a forum at which historian Humphrey McQueen spoke. I found his talk soporific, but further transcribe it here. This bit reminds me of recent events in Paraguay.

Adam Smith added that the rich combined, to preserve for themselves, the inequality of goods. So governments are by nature, conspiracies, of the rich, against the poor!

The Tolpuddle Martyrs were an example of that. In 1834, six agricultural labourers in Dorchester, were charged--not with forming a trade union, which they'd done; not with taking an oath; but with taking an oath to conceal the fact that they'd formed an organisation to take an oath! They were convicted of conspiring. Then unions were legal in England. Like today, you can form a union, and it's legal--if you don't do anything!

The audience laughs.

So then they were transported to Australia. In that case, the lawyers concocted a way of convicting these people--when they should never have been convicted! And that's what's going to happen in all these cases. Doc Evatt wrote a book about it, titled "Injustice Within the Law". That was his account of what happened.

There was a conspiracy to change the Prime Minister of Australia. In 1931, Joe Lyons moved from the Labor Party, to lead the anti-labour party. A group of six people in Melbourne, got together to change the leadership of the conservative party, and bring across a Labor leader, to take charge of the government during the depression.

United States conspiracy against WikiLeaks!

Appelbaum is known to have represented WikiLeaks at the 2010 H.O.P.E. conference, when its scheduled keynote speaker, Julian Assange, avoided travel to the U.S. due to security concerns.

Five U.S. Department of Homeland Security agents showed up to H.O.P.E looking for Julian Assange.

The F.B.I. officially partnered in the multi-agency joint investigation of WikiLeaks on July 28, 2010, but Neil MacBride, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia in charge of the Department of Justice's WikiLeaks Grand Jury in Alexandria, was already counseling the U.S. Army investigation of Manning and WikiLeaks in early June 2010, within days of Manning's arrested in Iraq, according to testimony ofSpecial Agent Mark Mander, CCIU, at an Article 32 Pretrial hearing.

MacBride hired WikiLeaks Grand Jury prosecutor, Andrew Peterson, to join the Terrorism and National Security Unit nine days after Manning was arrested.

Based on the same agent's testimony and WikiLeaks Grand Jury documents the FBI is targeting seven civilians for conspiracy to communicate or transmit national defense information, unauthorized access, and stealing U.S. Government property.

According to the agent, those individuals include the "founders, owners, or managers of WikiLeaks."

The "WikiLeaks" Creep-Hypocrite Movement is NOT pushing for the Diplomatic Cables between The Ecuador Embassy in London and The Government of Ecuador to be released-published in REAL Time ...

The (supposed) "WikiLeaks" Devotion to "Transparency" is nothing but a FICTION used to excuse Adolescent SNOOPING and BURGLARY ...

Is The Julian Assange Devotee Movement planning/pushing RIGHT NOW to have ALL the ongoing and incoming current daily/hourly Diplomatic Cables between the Ecuador Embassy in London and the Government of Ecuador made PUBLIC ... ?

That is idle speculation.

***When Julian Assange got caught Sexually Abusing Women, after having enjoyed the Voyeuristic Adolescent Thrills of Computer Hacking and Snooping, he said, "That's ancient History ... It's a Blame Game ... I'm not responsible for any Consequences ..."

***When politicians have been caught with their hand in the till or lying, they say "That's ancient history; that happened yesterday; we're moving on; I'm putting that behind me."! This is the political no-blame game. No-one's responsible for anything, because it all happened yesterday! So all our politicians have become born-again liars.

The audience laughs.

No-one's going to ask "Who did it?". Because if you do ask that, it proves that you're a conspiracy theorist!

The word means "to breathe (or whisper) together". It's simply that. But in practice, there's how they use it--and how we use it. They will use it for any activity that's aimed at them! And they have laws to prove that if you try to attack them or take power away from them, then you are conspiring. They want us to believe that they don't conspire. Rather, they perform normal government and law-and-order.

When business people conspire--they're just employing masters of business administration to do organisation and methods--in price-fixing and collusive tendering!

This entire thread has veered into Red Herring territory.

The person, habits, and history of Julain Assange seem to be an obsession with those who would deflect attention away from the government crimes and government cynicism he has called attention to by releasing the government's own records of those things.

Thanks to Wikileaks, I have seen the tape of American yahoos in a helicopter looking for, and finding, someone to shoot. Their claim that they thought the civilians on the ground whom they proceeded to murder in cold blood were insurgents is ridiculous and laughable. Would armed insurgents be strolling in the streets of Baghdad with a US copter overhead? They can save that lie for people dumb or dishonest enough to believe it. Which are you, Teilhard?

I will pay no more attention to your hysterical shouts of "Hey -- look over there. Rape!"

You're living as we all are at the bottom of the world's most fetid moral garbage pit, ignoring the smell and condemning anybody who calls attention to it, who absolutely insists that we acknowledge, and will not allow our attention to be deflected from the kinds of low crimes and felonies proved by the release of that tape. Lord have mercy!

Dear catboxer:

Thank you once again for troubling to drop by and comment.

releasing the government's own records

Here is a link to a trove of correspondence released for a freedom of information (FOI) request. The agency concerned is the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DEFAT). These documents show that DEFAT was aware of the threats against Julian. Yet I understand that agency to have put little more than lip service into helping him!

I have seen the tape

If you click on the links in my posts, you will find many other references.

lie for people dumb or dishonest enough to believe it

That seems to be all the capitalist media in our countries!

living as we all are at the bottom of the world's most fetid moral garbage pit

Enjoy the bread and circuses!

ignoring the smell and condemning anybody who calls attention to it

A common position of authorities!

low crimes and felonies

I understand that in China and the US, those are "state secrets"!

proved by the release of that tape

This is what all the arse-covering bullshit is about!

Icelandic politician advised to avoid the United States, for fear of arrest!

She no longer travels to the U.S. on advice of her lawyers and the State Department of Iceland out of fear that she may be arrested. Yet, more than dwelling on the personal costs, Ms. Jonsdottir wants to prick the fantasy of Barack Obama as a great liberal president and the illusion that the U.S. turned a corner when he replaced George W. Bush. Of course, Mr. Obama has taken a liberal stance on some social issues – his endorsement of gay marriage being the most recent – but the national security imperatives that took root in the U.S. after 9/11 have just gotten further entrenched. The Obama administration has charged more whistle-blowers (six) than all past presidents combined (three), she notes.

Ummmm ...

This entire THREAD is the "Julian Assange Free Association" Thread ...

It's ABOUT (all Things) "Julian Assange" ...

It ISN'T The "Government Corruption / Reform" Thread, is it ... ???

So indeed, The stinky "Red Herring" comes from Attempts to *Change*the*Subject* to *something*anything* OTHER than "Julian Assange" (who is no doubt increasingly an EMBARASSMENT to some of his Supporters ...)
