Well, I shall never say a bad word about US justice or any other country for that matter after reading how Australian gov. treated one of its own citizens. And he ws Australian born. Had he been a migrant from politically unacceptable country, that would have come in quite handy to tar him somehow. There is no excuise!*

I shall have to find out which one of our politicians support him.

US prosecution hurdle.

Paul Rosenzweig, Heritage Foundation, former Homeland Security official: It seems highly unlikely that Assange will ever face trial in this country, because no country where he is located is likely to extradite him to America.

Extradition for “political offenses” is rare, and Sweden has a long history of granting political asylum/refusing political extradition. Only extreme diplomatic pressure (of a form I cannot readily imagine being actually applied) would be likely to compel the Swedes to yield him up for trial. The British might be more willing to extradite him, and our extradition treaty with them might cover these offenses. One would hope that the administration does not delay its extradition request until after Assange moves to a less-favorable jurisdiction.

In truth, I see this as a very high hurdle and have trouble envisioning how it would be overcome.

The second episode of The World Tomorrow, looks like being great fun! Left and right wingers passionately debate Israel, Palestine and the end of the European welfare state. Here's the link to the teaser.

I agree that Julian Assange being extradited to The USA from Sweden is far from a sure Thing ... And IF he is convicted on the Sexual Abuse Charges in Sweden, I have no Idea if that would mean Prison Time, or what ...

But ... Of course ... If there IS no Trial, no Day in Court, then Assange will NOT be in a Position to "Clear his Name," either, but will REMAIN a Pariah ... and/or, OTOH ... He may then have to be very, very CAREFUL where ELSE he travels, having to avoid OTHER Countries that WOULD be willing to arrest him and extradite him to The USA ... It took us a DECADE to get Osama bin Laden, but we did finally get him ... We're patient ... We remember ...

Teaser: 'The World Tomorrow' Ep. 2 — Left & right in 21st century

I have personal experience with the socialist dream paradise of Sweden. And I can tell you it is nothing like the advertising!

EVERY Society -- being composed entirely of fallible Human Beings and their imperfect Institutions -- will FAIL to deliver "Paradise" on Earth ...

That is not LEAST of the Reasons to be wary, wary, wary of Julian Assange's ANARCHIST "Dream Paradise" ...

If US wants him bad enpugh if fo no other reason than to show the world 'who's the boss' they will manufacter the right law for the occasion - not for this...but for that***

If they do go that far, then the world is truly on a slippery slope of injustice and true terror.

And it will not be Assange alone, we are all in it like a sinking boat.

Because of the Time in which we live, Security Arrangements have indeed changed ...

The Events of 9-11-2001 HAPPENED and we have readjusted accordingly ...

Just yesterday in the News it was reported that one of "American-born" Jihadists had spilled some Details of potential planned FUTURE al Qaida Attacks on innocent Persons on American Soil ... I, for one, am PLEASED that the Plans have been foiled and that Conspirators are being brought to Justice ...

But as for Julian Assange, his Fate remains unclear not least because he continues to perptuate endless DELAYS such that his own Day in Court is going to happen ... when ... ???

Attacks on RT & Assange, reveal much about the critics!

bitter little rant about RT and Assange today in The Guardian from Luke Harding — one which Adomanis demolishes here — unveils the real reason for the hostility toward that network. On RT, Harding frets, “The west, and America in particular, is depicted as crime-ridden, failing, and in thrall to big business and evil elites.”

Probably EVERY Age has had a "Don Quixote"-Figure, bravely "tilting-at-Windmills" mistaken for Monsters ... (S)he tries to infuse the REST of us with his/her terrible pervasive Anxiety and Dread and pleads with us to, "Follow ME ... !!!" ....

Back in The 1950s in The USA, one such was Senator Joe McCarthy, who was just absolutely CERTAIN that The U. S. State Department was FULL of "Communists" who were bent upon our Destruction ...

In The Late 1960s - Early 70s, President "Tricky Dick" Nixon maintained an "Enemies List" and fostered illegal Break-Ins (sound familiar ???) ...

These Days, a rag-tag Thrill-seeking Group of snoopy Hackers ("WikiLeaks") TRIES to foster The Romance of "Anarchy" ...

Sorry ... I didn't "buy" it back THEN ... and I don't "buy" it NOW ...
