The state conducts pervasive blanket surveillance of populations.

Cleartrail: "We have expertise in countrywide monitoring and offer systems with a wide range of interception capabilities in complex communication networks."

Telesoft: "...capable of targeted or mass capture of a few conversations on a handful of STM-1/OC-3 links to entire countrywide wireline telecommunications networks."

Utimaco: "Mass intercept monitors all calls and messages..."

VasTech: "A high end system can comprise of more than 100,000 simultaneous voice channels, allowing it to capture up to one billion intercepts per day and storing in excess of 5,000 Terabytes of information."

Agnitio: "8s3 Strategic, designed for mass voice interception and voice mining..."

Wikileaks published brochures, presentations, marketing videos and technical specifications of surveillance technologies.

  • Devices small enough to be carried in a rucksack or briefcase that masquerade as legitimate mobile phone base stations in order to intercept and decrypt SMS messages and phone calls from all mobile phones within a radius of several hundred metres (‘IMSI catchers’).
  • Malware and spyware that gives the purchaser complete control over a target’s computer while allowing the interception to remain undetected.
  • Trojans that, once installed in a mobile phone, allow the purchaser to remotely turn on the phone’s microphone and camera in order to record sound and take photographs of the phone’s location and user.
  • “Optical cyber solutions” for mass surveillance of entire populations, involving tapping the submarine cable landing stations that carry all communications traffic in and out of countries. These techniques were originally developed by the NSA in the 1990s, and until now have been a closely guarded secret.

Interestingly, that is how they tracked down Osama bin Laden ... VERY powerful Computers "listen" for certain "Key" Words or Patterns and zero in on those, checking to see if THIS is what/for whom they're looking ...

"The State" is NOT reading Posts in BeliefNet or listening-in on your Mom's Phone Calls to her GrandChildren ...

IOW, "WikiLeaks" IS indeed admittedly engaged in a concerted deliberate broad CONSPIRACY to invade Privacy and STEAL Information ...

These Facts will NOT help Julian Assange -- and "WikiLeaks" in their eventual Feceral Court Trial ...

Reveal the world of cookies.

The Guardian newspaper has teamed up with Mozilla to research the monitoring of online behavior through cookies and other web trackers. After downloading the Collusion add-on for Firefox, you can generate a visual representation of all the cookies that have been downloaded which are linked to the sites you have visited. This shows quite an interesting picture. The Guardian then want the data from Collusion to be uploaded to their site after which they say 'we can build up a picture of this unseen world. When we've found the biggest players, we'll start tracking them back — finding out what data are they monitoring, and why.

Julian's mum.

Yes, support is growing rapidly for Julian and I am very heartened by people of all ages and backgrounds that have contacted me and stated they are united in their defence of justice, democracy and Julian.

People understand that Bradley Manning and Julian are the first battle we must win in taking back our democracy and Australians have a long tradition of taking care of our own

America may be the big Goliath but David defeated Goliath and there are millions of Davids on the planet, so we need to load up our slingshots.
