Julian on Radio National.

I've been declared a PEP, a politically exposed person, and that means in practice that I can't open any bank accounts. So they have to go through extra steps to do that. There's a worldwide financial blockade completely outside the law by Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, American Express, Moneybookers, Western Union, Bank of America - all US organizations. They closed my Swiss accounts that we were using publicly to raise legal defence money and my personal ability to move money - even as far back as September 2010 - from Australia into Sweden, was also blocked on the network. The Vienna to Australian blacklist, a US watch-list, at that time, back in 2010.

Politically exposed person.

PEP is an abbreviation for Politically Exposed Person, a term that describes a person who has been entrusted with a prominent public function, or an individual who is closely related to such a person. The terms PEP, Politically Exposed Person and Senior Foreign Political Figure are often used interchangeably, particularly in international fora. Although the term PEP is not used in FinCEN’s regulations, it is to a great extent similar to the definition of Senior Foreign Political Figure, as defined by section 312 of the USA PATRIOT Act and it is a term recognised (and defined) by the Wolfsberg Group of eleven global banks. Neither the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF) definition nor the USA PATRIOT Act definition of this term are intended to include middle ranking or more junior individuals in the categories listed in the below definition or officials of local governments. As of February 2012, the FATF definition of a PEP was revised to include domestic PEPs. Although the true number of PEPs globally is not known, one database of PEPs containes over 1.2 million unique profiles for PEPs.

The term Foreign Official is used by enforcement agencies relating to persons who have similar characteristics as PEPs, but this term is used in all industries, not just by financial institutions, and is referenced in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act in the United States.

By virtue of their position and the influence that they may hold, a PEP generally presents a higher risk for potential involvement in bribery and corruption. Most financial institutions view such clients as potential compliance risks and perform enhanced monitoring of accounts that fall within this category.

The process of screening for PEPs is usually performed at the beginning of account opening, called initial due diligence, and screening of accounts periodically is performed as part of ongoing due diligence. The process of due diligence to uncover PEPs can be time consuming and requires screening against a reputable database of known PEPs, usually close to 1 million profiles, against the names, dates of birth, national identification numbers and photos of clients.

Heavy fines have been imposed on financial institutions such as Riggs Bank for conducting business with PEPs without following adequate Know Your Customerprocedures and enhanced due diligence processes. PEP-specific compliance legislation underlines the link between corrupt politicians, money laundering and the financing of terrorism. Since September 11, 2001, more than 100 countries have changed their laws related to financial services regulation, with the fight against political corruption playing a fundamental role.

Evidence of the United States funding politicians in India.

Assange's comments follow the uproar in India after an American embassy cable leaked by WikiLeaks quoted an aide to a Congress leader as saying that money was paid to some MPs -- and more were to be paid -- to win support for Manmohan Singh's government in parliament in July 2008.

Oscar Swarz, A Brief History of Swedish Sex: How the Nation that Gave Us Free Love Redefined Rape and Declared War on Julian Assange.

Is Sweden the "Saudi Arabia of Feminism" as Julian Assange claimed? Judge for yourself.

Sweden in 2012 is a nation where it is illegal to pay for sex, and where sex-detectives from the police regularly break into hotel rooms to arrest those men they believe have paid – or will.

Sweden in 2012 is a nation that has redefined its gravest sex-crime, rape, so many times that it now sports most rapes per capita in the world after the African nation of Lesotho.

Sweden in 2012 is a nation where a former Deputy Prime Minister expresses herself like this: "Sometimes I wonder why not more women really hate men!"

A Brief History of Swedish Sex traces Sweden's change from a nation of free love to a leader in sexual repression. Through extensive research the author has constructed a captivating timeline of news stories, government reports, political speeches, pamphlets and court protocols of the last 60 years.

The text is rich in quotes that will make you laugh, doubt your eyes and mumble: "They must be kidding" – except that they are not! Everyday sexual incidents can turn into legal nightmares, which is shown through vivid examples from courts.

In addition, the timeline reveals previously unknown political dimensions of the Assange arrest, making the book a must-read for anyone with a critical mind.

Well, again ...

To have penetrating Sexual Intercourse with an Unconscious Woman without her Consent is -- BY  DEFINITION --  "Rape" (not ONLY in "Sweden," BTW) ... and further, to deposit Semen in her Vagina without her Consent COMPOUNDS the Offense, especially in these Days of increasing Rates of STDs, some of which are now known to be potentially FATAL in Outcome ...

Protecting Women from Sexual Predators like Julian Assange isn't about "Sexual Repression" ... It is about JUSTICE ... and Rule of LAW ... and Civilization ...

The rule of law in Sweden, is deficient. Julian's lawyers feel insecure about case examination there. That country's restrictive pre-trial detention is unnecessary, humiliating, and obstructs defence preparation!

Julian has run into Swedish sexual politics. He is in a Swedish political tussle about what defines sexual assault.

The Swedish prosecution--has mobilised freedom activists worldwide!

This public, stop-start case has been prosecuted with determination! Oscar Swartz' book examines sexual politics in Sweden. From a Swedish perspective, the case was handled unsurprisingly. The liberal author has criticised Swedish sexual politics. Sweden is no longer a sexually liberated country. Its sex legislation is becoming hypersensitive!

In the 1950s to 60s, was an explosion of sexual liberalisation. Until the mid seventies, the state reacted to sexual liberalism with deregulation and understanding. From the late seventies, prostitution clients were criminalised, and pornography attacked. A former Social Democrat parliamentarian lambasted pornography. Society now views sex negatively. Buying sex is now prohibited, and what was once defined as abuse, has been legislated to become rape! Feminist Social Democrats claim that men oppress women. Sex in Sweden is neither biological, social or cultural--but only political!

Julian presented to Christian Socialists--unaware of Swedish sexual politics. The women claimed that sexual agreement evolved into assault. The dispute evolved into a political brawl on questions of principle. A feminist commentator characterises patriarchal sexuality as violence. The Swedish Social Democratic Party has been tightening sexual policy. The public perception of rape is violent. Perception of sexual offences varies. But judicial practice on rape has been criticised. People are socially sexual--then disagree! Judgements are erratic.

Just before the general election, two male Socialist candidates were arrested having sex with prostitutes! Then Social Democratic women reported Julian to the police.  Assange's headline distracted attention from the socialists' scandal. He's been unsuccessful in the UK courts, but has a legal challenge.

LOL ...

Julian Assange has already shown himself to be a Flight Risk; he has consistently refused to cooperate on the Investigation of the Accusations against him ...

Rather than "going Underground" and then fleeing to Britain, Assange COULD have stayed in Sweden and cooperated with the Authorities  THEN  and  THERE ... But he CHOSE to do otherwise

So, yes ... I'm sure his Lawyers do "feel insecure" about the Case ... as they should ...

In ANY Civilized Society when the Rule of Law prevails (rather than Anarchy), to have Sexual Intercourse with an Unconscious Woman WITHOUT  HER  CONSENT, penetrating her Body WITHOUT HER CONSENT, and depositing Semen in her Vagina WITHOUT  HER  CONSENT ... is RAPE ...
