Why is Graham trying to give the President a religious Litmus Test?

I don't know that I agree with your take on all religion as the bane of humanity, Druac. I kind of like some of it.

On the other hand, I'm sure we're agreed that Franklin Graham is a cracker.

Religion…the bane of the human existence…some day we will get past this too…it may take a near extinction to do it, but I can always hope! :)

Many prominent republicans have seen Obama's birth certificate but I guess some won't let it go.

but..I do know what you mean VRA..

Thanks.  BTW, his current spiritual advisor is Christian.

What I do find disturbing is that the Republican leadership has not done much of anything to explain to their constituents that Obama is not a Muslem and was indeed born in the U.S.  They really could have put a stop to this early on but obviously have chosen not to.  Even McConnell's response yesterday on Meet the Press was weak.

BTW, I don't know if you saw that program yesterday, but did you by chance catch how McConnell refused to state how Repblicans would pay for allowing the Bush tax cuts to be extended?  Gregory asked him 5 times and he wouldn't answer it.

No.. i didn't really pay much attention to the news yesterday..

I've been completely gutting and remodeling my house and I've been busy doing that. so i've had the radio on more than the tv.

It's unbelievable to me the over 60% of the Republicans polled recently believe that Obama is a Muslem or say they don't know what his religion is-- especially in light of the Rev. Write controversy back in 2008.  And then there's the "brithers" in the Republican Party.  A very popular former Republican governor (Milliken) here in Michigan stated recently that he doesn't even recognize the party that he was a member of.

Well, since they can't really admit out loud that they hate Obama for his skin color, they have to find these silly "litmus tests" to prattle about.

At some levels, I have more respect for the honest racists of the White Supremacist movement.  They are, of course, incredibly wrong, but have the courage to tell you the truth about their beliefs.

There was no litmus test.. no one called for any such thing..

there was no demand to renounce or denounce anything.

Franklin graham gave his opinion on why many believe he's a muslim..

he must've been asked.. otherwise why would he of been interviewed.

The very first post was wrong.. It doesn't match the transcript.

But the whole "is he a muslim" question is patently stupid, and obviously racially motivated.  Do YOU want to get honest with us now?

Democrats think the glass is half full.
Republicans think the glass is theirs.
Libertarians want to break the glass, because they think a conspiracy created it.

The transcript shows that Franklin Graham has chicken manure running out his ears.

Religion (or lack of it) is acquired through learning what one's parents and religious authorities teach. It's not biologically transmitted through a "seed."

There are Americans who were adopted and some of them have no idea who their father's are...should they have to find their sperm donor so that they will know what religion they HAVE TO JOIN before they can run for President or City Council?

No one is exempt from this silly litmus test; or, is this craziness unique for the first black president?

Two post that get to the crux of the real question/problem.
