Dear Karma,

Interesting visual aid!

Nonself-defensive competition against others (fighting against others) is the root of human evil.
Let's try to overcome humanity's drive to reproduce on this finite planet.
Anarchism + perfect understanding and compassion within the citizenry = utopian socialism.

now that the pipe is cut off jaggedly with the shears, BP people, cut off a couple more inches smooth with the saw.  All the weight won't be on cutter to pinch it now.

I think that in politics here, the environment is considered a fringe issue. Social problems get fixed first. Or environmental destruction is seen as the price for social salvation!

G'day oddjoe:

The submarine video looks like a fight! Its caption is `Live video link from the ROV monitoring the damaged riser'. The alternation of oil and water is tumultuous!

Hi Karma,

That is a change from yesterday when the image appeared to be just plain water!

A few people seemingly have been talking of nuking the leak.  That is a totally insane line of thought.

Indeed, Karma, the people here seem good at doing things big and with broad effect!

Yes, oddjoe:

doing things big and with broad effect

«The result is collapsing fisheries, diminishing forest cover, depletion of fresh water systems, and the build up of pollution and waste, which creates problems like global climate change.»

I also notice what I consider to be unsustainable employment practices. That is, wearing people out faster than they can regenerate.
