This week, oil executives testified on Capitol Hill about the spreading oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. To many, their comments appeared nothing more than finger pointing as BP tried another method to stop the leak. "The senior executives from the oil behemoth BP, the offshore oil drilling company Transocean and the oilfield services contractor Halliburton pointed fingers at each other in seeking to explain what caused the accident that set afire and sank the Deepwater Horizon rig, killing 11 people," wrote Washington Post reporters Steve Mufson and Fahrenthold. At least Obama told them what for today !! What a bunch of skanks................. Truly I would like to see him get more forceful. And also to hault all off-shore drilling. The small bit of oil we can gain is not worth despoiling our waters and environment. So far we have seen Obama the mediator. Now we need to see what he stands for. That he rarely articulates.

I agree, Obama needs to make substantive moves. Actions speak louder than words. Also, I do believe off-shore drilling needs to be stopped until it can be made totally safe. Isn't it a shame that we have people who have jumped in to expand this drilling? |

'needs to be stopped until it can be made totally safe" Similarly the highways should be shut down until automotive transport can be made totally safe.

Now the video shows crude shooting out from many holes in the side of that riser. Despite the huge pressure of a kilometre and a half of water above, the yellow gas and brown oil look a serious industrial problem! |
