Am I a Neo-Con?
Do you believe that America should use the full weight of its military power to assert itself in other parts of the world, particularly the "strategic" parts, where the world's richest oil supplies are found?
Do you believe that America should use the full weight of its military power to overthrow certain the Middle Eastern dictatorships and replace them with budding democracies, friendly to American interests, no matter what it takes?
Do you believe America should respond to the terrorism threat with a full-throttled military response and a policy of collective punishment of the people of entire nations for the bad acts of a few? Do you believe suspected "evil doers" over there can be justifiably tortured just to be on the safe side?
Do you believe America has the right to mount unprovoked military invasions/occupations of other countries based on suspicion of those countries, alone?
***
Your answers to these questions would determine if you, or anybody else, is a neoCon. Other questions could be asked, as well, to flesh it out.
Or you (the generic "you") could just read the essays and "letters to the president" (if available) from the members of the PNAC at their current website to see if you agree with their muscular approach to American militarism.
There is one more: Do you believe that America, its proxies or proteges, have the right to mount unprovoked military invasions and occupations of other countries, and engage in ethnic cleansing, to accomplish national or military objectives under the guise of fighting terrorism?
If you do, then you are probably a NeoCon....

Based upon everything here with my name on it, am I a neo conservative? We can find any definition of this term we search for. It's like looking up Hippie. So while I don't mind too much being classified as a neocon (I guess...), I attribute the words towards an awakening for many. To me, and you can Google it... neocon, and many others see it in many ways. Am I a Neo-Con? Thanx, Ur2 :)

They've made a new think tank called the Foreign Policy Initiative. www.foreignpolicyi.org/ PS: They still refer to their movement as neoconservatism :) www.foreignpolicyi.org/node/14491

Gail, the term neoconservative comes from the ravings of William Kristol, father of the Project for the New American Century. They were quite clear about their aims. Do a search on them and find out what they stood for. I think they've taken down their website, finally. But there is still plenty on the web about them.

Well, then there are no neocons anywhere, TS, because there is no American Empire building...that is unmitigated BS... so why are you using the term? since the reason you gave is bogus...

When the left tells me I am a neocon, Jasr, I know exactly who they are and what they mean...it is now an insult---that greedy Jew bstrd...that's how I hear it. So if you call me a neocon, Jasr, that is what I will think you mean. What do you mean, if not? What is this epithet supposed to point out?
Neocons are in favor of American Empire. That's it, that's all. All this antisemitism BS is just that. And it won't play here.

It's pretty convenient, too. It allows you to play the anti-semitism card whenever your political position is challenged. In fact, I think I'll take it up myself: The only reason you denounce liberalism is because of your abiding hatred of Christians!! There. How much sense does that make?

What is this epithet political label supposed to point out?
You never heard any George W Bush, Dick Cheney or Alberto Gonzales speeches or comments to the press? Never read John Yoo's articles? Hard to believe you haven't
