I think for me these moments and exercises set aside for gratitude are hellpful because we get so caught up in our own world and our own desires and we forget what to be grateful for.
Good point, and I agree.

Good Idea! :)
Today, and every day, I am particularly thankful I have found my dream job (going on 2 years now, found it in Feb of 2008 after being laid off of a job I didn't really like but had for 9 years...whew!). How many people can actually say they are working for a living doing their hobby? I feel very fortunate in this time to have the perfect job.
I actually am lucky enough to say that too... I get to be a massage therapist, which is wonderful!

I am very thankfull that my husband and I were able to carve a bit of time together this morning. I am also thankfull that my hormone riddled 8th grade son is bringing home better grades. I also grateful that I have two friends tomorrow who want to spend time with me and do the lunch/shopping thing. I am very grateful that my daughter has such nice friends who want to include her in sleepovers and playdates. I can go on and on. I think for me these moments and exercises set aside for gratitude are hellpful because we get so caught up in our own world and our own desires and we forget what to be grateful for. Many women have lost a husband or have a relationship that is too problematic to spend quality time together. I often wish our relatioship were different, more passion or whatever but I need to remember to start with gratitude. My son drives me crazy with not wanting to take school seriously but I need to remember there are many parents that would love to trade problems with me and I do have a healthy and capable boy. I try and remember to be grateful at least once a day.

I don't know why, but I've always had a hard time with grattitude lists... they seem contrite or obvious or something... But I can see the value in them...I'm not sure what my block is. I am extremely grateful for my life... I feel like I've been given so many gifts and opportunities...it's a miracle, really.

To celebrate Thanksgiving, some of my friends on facebook have been listing something they are thankful for everyday. Thought I'd try it here for a week . Anyone?
Today, as much as I love Fridays because they signal the end of the workweek, I'm thankful in this crappy economy to be one of the people fortunate enough to still have a job!
I'm thankful this week is over. I've held three trainings this week (Event Planner is one of my many duties) and one was 4 hours North of my home and where I'm at today is 3 hours South. A lot of travel in one week!
