If obama crams this plan down the throats of the American people, I certainly think Canada should take our refugees.
We have taken yours for decades.
Obama is not cramming this plan down the throats of the American people. Many if not most Americans want health care reform.
Many of us want to insure that all Americans have access to good health care....including preventative care.
Many of us want to improve the health care for (that those who are not wealthy) Americans that are under-insured.
Many of us want to put safety nets in place so hard working Americans do not end up making the choice between bankruptcy or saving the life of a loved one.
Many of us want to decrease the cost of first-rate health care.
As soon as obama brings about that plan through the private sector, I will sign up. His plan will do none of that.
Technically, he does not have "a plan"....he supports health care reform....but, to my knowledge he has not proposed a plan. Now, I think there is a plan in the senate and a couple of plans floating around the house.
Additionally, there are also all those plans floating around amongst some conservatives.....that contain "death panels", mandatory sex changes, forced abortions, etc. But, these plans only exist in people's worst fears.

Canada didn't get her first open MRI machine until 2006; i think i'll stay where the technology is up to date
When was the last time that you, or one of your loved ones, needed an MRI, Dave? I've dealt with quite a few kids and parents with varying medical needs over a long period of time, and it hasn't been a feature in our lives. Our technology is just fine. Our outcomes, by any benchmark, are superior to yours. You appear to have essentially no preventive medicine system, your life expectancy rate is appalling for a 'civilized' country, and your infant mortality rate is down there right next to Croatia's, substantially behind Cuba's, LOLOLOLOLOLOL...
Managing to save a couple of extra fat ignorant old white guys does not a superior system make.
Greetings Old Friend! It is good to know you are still alive. With some of what has been posted on this board....and, listening to our national talk-show entertainers such as: Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Savage, et al.........it would seem as though there could be few Canadians over the age of 30 because your health care is so limited.

After the debacle of the 2004 elections I produced a web site dedicated to the uniting of Canada and the Blue States. The newly formed nation would be called The United States of Canada. Take a look at this map and you can see where the new Canadian border would be drawn. www.makethemaccountable.com/misc/images/... With the Democrats firmly in control of all 3 branches of government it may seem as though the idea has passed its time. But if the red states continue to stand in the way of our nation's best interests we may find that the merits of the idea exceed the matter of what party is in power in the USA at any given time.
The thing I find most irritating about conservatives isn't just that their opinions so rarely have any basis in reality. It's not even their incessant refusal to change those opinions when presented with irrefutable facts and logic. But rather it's their complete bewilderment that anyone else might think they should.

There's nothing at all new about the venomous anti-Obama sentiment coming from the right. Its just what happens when an effective and popular Democrat leads the country in a positive direction. Kennedy and Johnson had the John Birch Society. Carter and Clinton had their lunatic detractors. What has changed, however, is that the Birchers and Clinton Death List crowd used to be the extreme fringe and the GOP saw them as an embarrassment. Now the crazies are the top GOP leadership and only a few Republicans are calling for sanity. Why? Because Republicans have no ideas and nothing else to sell.

If Canada would like our territory, Maine would be delighted to join up now.
And the funny thing is .. most American's would support whole heartedly if Main joined Canada. Hey . Lobster might become a little more expensive ... but ... I like Crawfish better anyway!! :p Bette ... that is the best idea I've heard on this board in ages! PLEASE .. take our healthcare refugees. In fact, I think a hgh speed rail should be installed between Mexico and Canada so the illegals can just come straight to Canada!! HEY . .maybe Obama could free up some of the 80% of so of that Re-election ... err ... stimulus bill to build it!
