These particular transfers have been somewhat contentious. Bermuda's Prime Minister almost lost his job over this, and now some of the Uighurs scheduled for transfer to Palau are objecting.

There have been long negotiations about hosting them in Munich, Germany, where the largest exile Uighur community worldwide lives. Germany and also the state of Bavaria were finally showing signs to agree on a framework for hosting them, when the Palau deal ended all this. Over here in Germany, it all looks like "a lot of work for nothing". Personally, I think this is an extremely stupid deal - and whoever is responsible for it should rather leave office. It is one of those little 'pesky' details that make me doubt the success of Obama's mission.

I'd guess she refers to Palau as "paradise" - tropical island, beach vacation, or so.
