This is such an exciting time for astro-guys.  The sun is breaking all kinds of low records.  Even the "expert" Hathaway, is having to concede that this is the grandest minimum we've had in a century.

If it goes much longer, it will pass the Dalton.  NOW .. this is going to be great for looking at natural effects on Climate.

Sun .. low .. PDO .. negative .. GHG .. skyrocketing.

Do any of you hold out the possibility that some new knowledge may be gained in the understanding of earths climate regarding natural forcings in this unprecedented period?

You among all the people posting here should be willing to consider that anthropogenic CO2 emissions are the cause of the sun's low eneergy emittance... I mean, disprove it! And don'ty allude to "how could it possibly?" because that has never been an actual concern of you in the past.

Yes, of course, its possible, but I don't think we will learn anything new.  Between the solar minimum and negative PDO, the temperature should drop dramatically, JUST LIKE IT ALWAYS HAS IN THE PAST.  All the computing power in the world won't help the AGW crowd with their models if temps trend downward.  On the other hand, if temps hold steady or go up, CO2 will prove itself a major driver in earth's climate.  As I recall, last year was very cold in terms of average global temperatures.  If this year turns out as cold or colder, we have the beginning of a trend, and the AGW crowd will have a real hard time holding on to its supporters.

yes, ... I concede ... CO2 here on earth is causing the Sun to die!  As you say .. at least it is a possibility.

Not only should you concede that,
but you should distrust any other model as long as you haven't ruled out this!

First wait until a universal negative is proven, and only then proceed with positivist science.

That's the Bo way, as we all had ample opportunity to learn!

Now charik

You are wrong there.  I'm waiting for positive science to show what's going on.  AGW theory is no more proven than is solar or ocean, or the hungarian monkey theory regarding climate.

It is the "consensus" that has established CO2 at the top .. not science.  As I noted on another thread .. the consensus is demanding that all other theories be proven in order to overturn the consensus .. when in fact, the AGW crowd has not held their own theory to the same rigorous standard.
