I searched the topics here to see if this has been talked about, but nothing came up in the search.  David had been with his now wife since 1986.  He says he had avoided getting married for 23 years.

The last of the real gunslingers finally gets married. Dave tells the tale of his recent nuptials.
Old turkey buzzard David Letterman shocked everyone last night when he announces getting married to his long time girlfriend Regina Lasko. This clip includes pictures of his new wife Regina and Harry Letterman.

Enjoy!

I'm surprised that anyone would marry that lifelong misogynist.

Nobody ever said Dave was a pushover.

Democrats think the glass is half full.
Republicans think the glass is theirs.
Libertarians want to break the glass, because they think a conspiracy created it.

I know Stardove, I was interested in this story too!

Just for the sake of conversation - the photos of his wife show a very average looking 48 year old woman - not at all glamorous.  I found this very interesting.

Dave a pretty average looking 61 year old man, he just happens to be on TV almost every night; for 30 or so years, a successful weatherman, comedian, producer and filthy rich.

When she was just a starlet, Lana Turner was dating songwriter Hogie Carmichael. Another starlet asked her, "Why are you going out with HIM?  He's old, and he's SHORT."

Turner resonded, "When he sits down on his wallet, he's real tall."

I can't agree with you that Dave is just average looking for 61.  It is interesting that he would choose a mere mortal for a wife.  Supposidly he is very secretive and protective of his family and there are very few photos available of his son or his wife

Except for the ones he's been showing recently.

Plus all the photos of Harry he has shown over the years.

The older Dave gets the more he reminds me of my Uncle Parker who passed away last year.

After 23 years together the marriage should last!

This was very happy news the other night.  It was definitely time!

Having been married only once...to his high school sweetheart...for eight years [1969-1977], David Letterman's reclusiveness and guarded emotions have been attributed to his Midwestern reticence and a sincere discomfort with playing the celebrity game. Regina [now age 48] worked as production coordinator on his show at one time...and then as production manager for SNL.  Until Harry came along, he had kept their relationship relatively private...even though they had been together since 1986.

I imagine they decided to get 'married' for Harry's sake. It will make his life a lot easier...IMO.  This is a good thing for ALL of them. I wish them years of happiness as a devoted family unit.

Annie
