I'm excited the image insert (the green tree) on the posting window is finally working.  Three cheers.  As long as the image remains at the URL address the photo should remain at Beliefnet.  At least that is how it worked in the past.



I just used the image insert to add this picture.  Click on tree and put the URL address where the photo/picture is located.  Be sure the size is less than 500 in width or it will throw the thread out of bounds.  You can re-size in preview by clicking on a corner and dragging picture inwards to make it smaller.

Anyone ever think about the old discussion and want to find them?  If so used this link:

Once you get the the page you will be told about the new forums, but can get to any of the old discussions which still remain.  From time to time some posts had to be removed to continue under that platform.  This is one reason why Beliefnet had the change in format a number of years back.

The thread I was questioning was only 5 days old when it went away. I asked for help for 8 days with no answer. Now that "I'm good", I get an answer. Amazing how that happens.  ;)


I remember JASR asking me "What my thread had to do with Politics". I said it had as much to do with Politics as your thread about the fertilizer plant in Texas blowing up, then it went away.


What has piqued my interest especially is that solfeggio posted a thread here about PS244 going veggie. I asked on the thread what this had to do with Politics and GirlChristian popped right back with (paraphrase) "It's News, as in US News and Politics." I got back with her about Rangerken's Board Guidelines and C&P'd the first paragraph from it and haven't heard back since. 


I guess the quandary of disappearing threads and the Board Guidelines have me wondering aloud these days. Myself, I still don't see the connection of PS244 and Politics and why my question to GC went unanswered also. Maybe she forgot.

Suggestion before posting:  Click on preview.  If for some reason your post is gone on submit you can go back and find it, if you previewed the post.  Of course highlighting and copy will save what you post too.


If you are posting a picture (the tree icon now works) or a video please reduce the width to no more than 500.  If you are posting a video you can change the number of the width before posting.  Say the width is 640 simply change that number to 500 or less.  Another thing I noticed is a glitch with video.  Skip the preview! I know I've said preview, but for some reason videos disappear when videos are previewed.  This has been reported, but I don't know if there is a fix yet.


To reduce a picture preview it and click on the picture.  Little tiny square show up.  Drag the top right corner until the picture is under the 500.  I ask this because pictures and videos over 500 will throw the margins of thread out of bounds. (Same can be done with videos if the glitch is fixed.)  We've all seen those threads!


While I'm posting technical stuff when you copy a headline directly from a source they can also show up way too large and even make a thread out of bounds.  What I do is copy the title of link and copy the URL.  After I copy those and any part of the article I want I paste into Notepad then I copy from Notepad and paste into posting area.  I highlight the title and use the chain icon to insert the URL.  I also click on the open in new window/tab. 


Then I preview and check to make sure the link works.  Again sometimes there is a glitch and I have to link a second time or even more.  Guess it is the price of having a free site for members.

Edit: I just tested the preview then submit a video and it is still broken, so if you want to post a video do NOT preview.
