Honestly, eadler, can you still defend this guy when he says stuff like this?  Do you really believe that he can even attempt to be objective when he is spouting rhetoric that is comprable to the Spanish Inqusition's attempt to silence Galileo?

Hansen is being factual here.
The fact is that Exxon Mobil has financed some of the same public relations people who claimed that cigarette smoking does not cause lung cancer.

There are others also.

Both of these organizations are financed by the tobacco industry and big oil.
Both spout misinformation on both topics.
That took me 2 minutes.

eadler,

Your citation of these sources shows little respect for academic discipline.  Sourcewatch obviously is as biased as they come, because when one looks up "An Inconvenient Truth", one gets hit with how Al Gore put the movie together and the book by the same title, etc.  However, there is no mention of the criticisms, including how the Birtish have forced teachers to offer rebuttals because of at least nine scientific errors in the "documentary."  A good site that evaluates sources would at the very least have this in there.

Don't even get me started on Wiki.  It has become very obvious that Wikipedia is not a scholarly site, and it leaves much to be desired.  Professors are telling their students to take it with a grain of salt and only focus on the footnotes.

Come up with some more reliable sources for your information.

But as to getting back to the topic on hand.  Let's check up on Mr. Hansen and see how "right he is"

http://www.climate-skeptic.com/2008/06/ … ts-in.html

It looks like he was doing o.k. until recently according to the graph.  Couple that with the findings of Steve McIntyre, and you've got to have some real questions about this guy.  And he's calling for trying heads of certain corporations for crimes against humanity.  According to the data, who is the one truly guilty of misleading the public?
