Faith, I checked out the link you sent and must say, after scanning the entire site, that it does not exactly present an objective viewpoint. Anyone who would consider either the Heritage Foundation or former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese as unbiased has either been smoking the wrong kind of cigarettes, or has been drinking too much sacramental  wine. I did find it amusing that they has Tom Paine's Common Sense posted on the site with his picture, no less. Although I searched carefully I couldn't find his Age Of Reason there. I wonder why? There was one thing that I did find useful. If I'm ever in that part of Georgia, I may give Higgy's Pizzeria a try. Thanks for providing me with a good laugh on an otherwise boring Saturday.

Peace

Dominionists, quite honestly, scare the shit out of me. I'd be on the short list for execution, simply for existing.

To say that site is a little bias is a huge understatement.  It seems to take a fact and spin it around and then suggest that the fact = something that it is not.

Are you suggesting that because the ACLU will defend the civil rights of anyone that it is promoting immorality?

I may completely disagree with an individual and what they stand for....however, I believe they sitll have rights.

Those rights end and shouldn't be defended when they exploit or harm others.

We agree on that. Which right is the ACLU defending that harms others?

at times it does seem if the ACLU has an agenda; they will often take pro bono the case of the school trying to stop the Bible Club ect... but never seem to take the side of the Bible Club meeting off hours at the school-this issue has been settled now-Bible clubs are legit but look at who was on the wrong side of this issue and ask why?

thats just one example

But they have taken the side of Christian groups as often as not, so I am not sure that I see the prejudice.

Dark Energy. It can be found in the observable Universe. Found in ratios of 75% more than any other substance. Dark Energy. It can be found in religious extremists, in cheerleaders. To come to the conclusion that Dark signifies mean and malevolent would define 75% of the Universe as an evil force. Alternatively, to think that some cheerleaders don't have razors in their snatch is to be foolishly unarmed.

It appears to me that the ACLJ has the Bible Club cases pretty much covered.

And, for the record....I have no problem what so ever with Bible Clubs meeting on public school property as well as other religious clubs have the same access.

I do not see the prejudice in the ACLU actions either.

They support hate speech:

"In recent weeks, the ACLU has come out in strong support of the American National Socialist Workers Party of Roanoke, VA -- a neo-Nazi group -- and their plan to march through a predominantly African-American neighborhood in Cincinnati tomorrow. This is par for their course: the ACLU pushed for -- and won -- the landmark Supreme Court case in favor of Ku Klux Klan expression, Brandenberg v. Ohio (1969)".

Should crude, hateful speech that advocates violence and crime be protected?
