I've had devotees of differing and even opposing religious faiths tell me exactly the same thing! I had a very sincere and pleasant young Mormon missionary tell me just the other day that he belonged to the "only true Church on the Earth" and that the Book of Mormon was, unlike the Bible, the "undiluted word of God". He was genuinely convinced of the truth of this because the "Spirit had witnessed the veracity" of both these beliefs to him. You can't both be right. I've had very sincere Muslims make very similar protestations about Allah and the Koran. It is obvious from these examples that strength of conviction is no guarantee of truth.
I've found that a good way to judge the value of a religion is to study the behavior of its followers.
"When it shall be said in any country in the world, my poor are happy; neither ignorance nor distress is to be found among them; my jails are empty of prisoners, my streets of beggars; the aged are not in want, the taxes are not oppressive; the rational world is my friend, because I am a friend of its happiness: When these things can be said, then may the country boast its constitution and its government." -- Thomas Paine: The Rights Of Man (1791)

In the Christian religion, I'd say break that down to denominations.
Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. Marcus Aurelius
There is no absolute agreement, because of divisionism amongst the Christian denominations wherein heretics have moved in long ago.
Have you ever studied the history of Christianity? In the early days there were four competing sects, Ebionites, Marcionites, Gnostics, and Proto-orthodox. The Proto-orthodox faction won due to superior military ability. The Proto-orthodoxs became the Roman Catholic Church which remained as the only main sect until the Great Schism of 1093 when the Eastern Orthodox Church broke away from the Roman Church. You should know the rest like the various Protestant sects. What we don't have is knowledge of what the original manuscripts say because the various sects each added their own interpretation based on their beliefs.
People divide up the Word of God as though they can, yet it is not God's way!
The dividing up started right at the beginning and without the original manuscripts we have no way of knowing which sect has the story right if any actually do.
Old and New Testaments belong together, not apart, for they are the same story, prophesy of Messiah (OT) and fulfilment of that prophesy(NT).
No they don't belong together. The Tanakh is a complete work of a valid, separate religion. The New Testament was written in a different language and there were many mistranslations by the New Testament authors who were unable to read Hebrew.

There is hardly any agreement at all, which is why Christians have been at each other's throats for almost 20 centuries.

God's supposed "Word" was "divided" up in the first place, it's multiple books representing differing factions and view points. This is well known to genuine scholars of the Bible.
Old and New Testaments belong together, not apart ...
No, they don't belong together at all, as any adherent of Judaism will quickly and rightly inform you.
for they are the same story, prophesy of Messiah (OT) and fulfilment of that prophesy(NT).
Again, no, it's not the same "story" at all and the Bible's record of prophecy is a record of the dismal failure of prognostication. I've pointed out failed prophecies from the Bible to you before which you have simply ignored. The fact is that no independent evidence exists that any biblical prophecy has been fulfilled, despite your insistent but unsubstantiated claims.
