I'm fond of the more traditional British equivalent "dolt".

OK, well I'm more familiar with it referring to a portion of anatomy which I doubt Dan has, but SG and I both do.  Which is why it seemed an unlikely pejorative for SG to use.

I guess 'dolt' is a tad less of a twat than a 'wanker'. More like a 'twit' really.
