I wish, but we see the type in the library quite frequently. We have a man who write diatribes against Tiger Woods all over, we used to have a Muslim woman who wrote diatribes about cleanliness and how awful men were. We have others who preach like Nancy does on sites and rarely make sense, some who mix up sex and religion.

I don't pretend to understand it - I'm not a psychologist - but I think that something goes wrong in some people. Their reality and what the rest of us see is completely different. There is no way of making them normal or see reality in a normal way either. It is kind of sad, but unfortunately they are a part of the world.

Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. Marcus Aurelius

Yes, you are right. So sad.

A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle

The earth will be destroyed by God a thousand years from now, during the war between the camp of the saints and the powers of Gog and Magog. The ressurected saints get to live on a new planet without any seas (probably Mars)..

Mars you say? Sounds, ah, eh... unique. Ya, that's the word, that'll fox em!

In your dreams. :) It is a nice fantasy to think about for you. Beats your reality.

Of course the question is, which god? Could be in a 1,000 years another one will have become popular among the doomsayers.

Then they won't stay resurrected very long. It's much too cold and there's nothing to breathe.

Camping is a perfect example of this kind of thinking. Both the interpretor and Nancy think that if they think a thing hard enough and believe it, it will happen. Didn't work for Camping and it won't work for them.

That's not even very good science fiction!

Ach, it is just his hobby. He can think about fantasical things like this - daydreams really - and it occupies his time and it probably more fun than his regular life. Look how far he's put it in the future - he's learned something from Camping. He won't live long enough to be proved wrong and doesn't have to worry about silly things like evidence. It's something to daydream about when he has nothing else going on.

theinterpreter, have you thought about trying to write fantasy? you might enjoy trying to get it into a story form. Zombies are hot right now in the literary world. If you throw in some of them, you might find an audience.
