wohali,

controlling minorities in the Western sense is not an Indian thing. All religions persecuted abroad like Jews or Parsis existed in India peacefully. Coexistence with Islam was also largely smooth. The main problems started with Portuguese in 16th c. and then with Brits. Read about the history of Goa Inquisition etc. and the Indian reality of the last 20 years.

sg,

these pro-Hindu media are all privately owned. The mainstream, state-owned ones are reserved for 'secular' (not neutral but antireligious), pro-Western ideology. India is a formally secular country yet it pays pilgrimages to Mecca to Muslims. Which Muslim country does that?

Hope this helps. Hare Krsna
