«Parliamentary Secretary of Disabilities Bill Shorten says the ongoing decline in public servants with a disability is unacceptable.
In 2008/09, people who identified themselves as having a disability represented just three per cent of the public service, about 4,850 workers.
This was a drop of 0.4 per cent from the previous financial year, despite an increase of more than 2,000 public servants.
And it is part of an steady decline of more than 1.5 per cent in the past decade, according to the latest State of the Public Service report.»
