Rosie, you have been concerned and caring for your family here and Darlin' these people ARE your family. Bless you. Now about Rosie. How are you doing hon? You are important too. Do you have the help and support you need. I know you have it here. That goes without saying. What about off line? Do you have a support system? Sweetie that is so important. This traumatized you too.

I have to agree with T here, really. This boy needs help. He is young but he did a horrible thing. He needs help to sort out why he did it. Children are very resilient and at that help he isn't completely beyond it. I hope the proper people get involved and do tha. I don't want to think another person has been lost to this madness and horror. I just don't.

Rosie you are in my thought and prayers. Don't forget that.

True, but sociopathy is probably set pretty well by age 9. Personality disorders are hard to "fix."

True, but we really, at this point, have no way of knowing he's a sociopath, and even if he DOES have a personality disorder, it can't be diagnosed until at least age 18,,,,,and it COULD be another personality disorder besides sociopathy,,,

It could be learned behavior that we have a prayer of UNlearning between now and adulthood,,,,,,,at least I pray it is,,,,Holly

Frankly, I have a much bigger problem with the boy's parents than I do with the boy himself. A 7-year-old does not come up with tracts and concepts of lesbianism on his own. It's fairly obvious that the parents are teaching him to be a hateful little bully towards those who are "different" or won't accept their specific "word of God." Hopefully, the Department of Social Services will investigate this family. Also, a stiff civil suit may just wake them up to the fact that they can't teach their children to assault those with who disagree with them.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's illegal to teach your child hate,,,,,,,,I don't know how much power the DSS or DCF (in some states) HAS when it comes to the religious education of children,,,,,the sad fact is we HAVE the right to teach our children God hates gays,,,,,,,,,and all lesbians go to hell,,,,,,,and all non-Christians are evil people,,,,I think you'd have to prove that they TAUGHT their child to attack other children,,,and that's mighty difficult to do,,,,,sad,,,,,but true. THIS is what I hate about Fundamentalism,,,,,when it goes too far, it's bad,,,,,,really really bad,,,,,and it creates an atmosphere where 7 year olds feel justified in breaking the jaws of 6 year olds,,,,,,Holly

Thanks for all the positive energy and kind thoughts.

I'm doing okay. I'm still watching Megan's older sister, who is nine. I'm very relieved that no permanent physical damage has been done. She has lost a tooth, but it's a baby tooth, so no real harm done, I guess.

Her parents are doing well. They've taken some time off from work. My fiance and I are taking turns watching their older girl while they are at the hospital. We mostly keep her occupied with trips to her favorite park and Wii. She's only been to the hospital once (last night) and it really upset her, so we've decided to keep her visitations to a minimum until her sister is feeling a little better (she's still on some pain meds and kind of out of it).

Megan should be coming home in a day or two. Her temperature spiked a little this morning, so they're keeping her for observation for a little while, just to make sure it's nothing serious.

She's already one spoiled little kid! My fiance bought her a gameboy to keep her occupied while she's awake, and the nurses keep giving her double portions of chocolate pudding.

Oh, Chocolate is good! If you gotta be in the hospital then have her play the pity card and get all of it she can! Really, chocolate is good.

You take care of yourself, woman. I will be in and out over the next couple of days and then I will be off line for several days after that. So I will check in when I can.  Keep your chin us, Darlin'. We really are here for you.

ROFl...I am going to score on the pudding.  You see, I have several good frineds who are nurses on the general floors and one very very good friend in the SICU. If she can swing it she will be my charge nurse when I get out of surgery. Penny is a real take no prisoner's kind of woman.  She told me she'll have a stash of pistashios for me when I can eat them. I love chocolate pudding but I am also addicted to pistachisos.

Well, her temp spiked again, so they're putting her on antibiotics. She's been unconscious all morning with a temp of 104.

Don't we all just LOVE it when the "good word" is spread?

Her mother has given me permission to make a circle for her. I'm asking Hestia (my goddess) to protect her. I'm so scared.

Continued prayers and healing energies coming her and your way Rosie.
A tyrant must put on the appearance of uncommon devotion to religion. Subjects are less apprehensive of illegal treatment from a ruler whom they consider god-fearing and pious. On the other hand, they do less easily move against him, believing that he has the gods on his side. Aristotle
