Hi All,

The inaugural prayer was offered at one of the world's great chapels on 9/23/07...

The Counting Prayer
"The world now has the means to end extreme poverty, we pray we will have the will".

We invite every person, and every congregation in every faith in every country to join the historic St. Paul's Chapel at Ground Zero in NYC and to offer The Counting Prayer everyday and/or at every service until the Millennium Development Goals are met. Tens of thousands of prayers will turn into millions then billions, and as the prayers are answered the repetition of words will turn into advocacy then action, and finally a miracle.

As of today the Prayer Vigil Counter was over 75,000 prayers offered, and 4,900,000 have been pledged through 2015. It is my hope that the faith communities can unite around the simplest of common denominators—ending extreme poverty.

Will you please join us?

Blessings on your work!

I appreciate the idea, but instead of prayer, more religionists should put their money where their mouth is.  Diverting Christian tithing from the church coffers to the poor alone would solve our ills.
