There are three sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth.
God is just a personification of reality, of pure objectivity. |

Jim start specifying the basic rules of the universe which would result in an improved "product"? What happens in reality is that the only test of a critter is to survive and breed, or perish by failing to. To improve on this spontaneous, improvising, undignified and basic repertoire, the Designer needs to start by identifying what Product A is for - what's its purpose, what is it to do? With that clearly identified, Product A can be designed and made very efficiently. A related question also arises at the outset - whether biological products are the most efficient and reliable way to achieve Product A's purpose. Mechanicals running on solar or atomic power, or long-lasting quantum computer parts may be a better answer. In fact the simplest thing may be to get rid of the messy biology altogether. |

The obvious word that leapt to mind was entropy. Even the universe will die.

“Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions…for safety on the streets…for child care, for social welfare…for rape crisis centers, women’s refuges, reforms in the law. If someone says, “Oh, I’m not a feminist,” I ask, “Why, what’s your problem?” Dale Spender |
