You claim to be a doctor, I would presume you are qualified to make your own scientific explanations.

If you aren't, that would be frightening if I were your patient.

Democrats think the glass is half full.
Republicans think the glass is theirs.
Libertarians want to break the glass, because they think a conspiracy created it.

What we have here are a group of African Americans (genus: homo sapiens) engaging in song and worship of their particular god. Presumably, the god of Christianity (see New Testament for reference). Sound waves are converted into an electrical signal by the microphones the singers are using, which are then detected by the ears of the audience.  It appears they are enjoying these particular sounds and may possibly be in a state of euphoria, which could indicate increased levels of serotonin in the brain.

So the fact that it is a universal longing that each person who does not specifically and deliberately block out their natural desires to be a part of something greater is explained by what?  Every man, woman, and child is in some sort of relationship with something outside of themselves, whatever you wish to name the force, being, idea, etc.  ...uh, even you.

From whence springeth our constant cravings?  or our abnegation of our deepest desire?

Many, or perhaps most,  people are unable or unwilling to build a rational secular social and moral structure for themselves, and must accept the fast faith alternative at their local religious society.  Normally belief in God is a requirement in such societies.

Welcome Amwar, it is good to see you again on the boards.

I will answer this post first, since what you are asking here appears to be different than your next post, about belief in deities/higher powers. Homo sapiens are social animals, not only with other Homo sapiens, but often with other non-human animals as well (cats, dogs, horses, turtle, etc.). Some animals do not have this social mentality and are solitary, while other animals gather during breeding season only to disperse afterwards. More than likely, it has something to do with our evolutionary history and being part of the Primate Order.

The cravings for our society are easily explained by the fact that as intelligent social animals, we have no choice but to compatible groups with which to share our innermost feelings.

I don't understand your abnegation comment at all.  What deepest desire are we denying.

It's not very good, is it? If you want to listen to Christian music, you'd do better to listen to this:
