Hello. I am new to Wicca, and I have no teachers outside of books. There are, in my community, no Wiccans that I know of, so I hope to find some answers here. One of my most pressing questions is, what do most Wiccans think about abortion? Obviously, not everyone will have the same opinion, but I really hope someone will be willing to open up about their views on this topic, as it is one that I am very passionate about. I have my own beliefs, but I really would like to know about some of your views on this topic, and how you approach it as a Wiccan, Witch, or Pagan. Thank you! |

Among pagans, its largely a personal matter. Among Wiccans, it is all about your interpretation of the rede.
YMMV.
Dark Energy. It can be found in the observable Universe. Found in ratios of 75% more than any other substance. Dark Energy. It can be found in religious extremists, in cheerleaders. To come to the conclusion that Dark signifies mean and malevolent would define 75% of the Universe as an evil force. Alternatively, to think that some cheerleaders don't have razors in their snatch is to be foolishly unarmed.

We do not have rule book gods and goddesses. Our gods teach us our responisbilities, and seek to arm us with the skills and abilities we will need to face our choices and our challenges for ourselves. It is for you to decide based on your own understanding of your personal responsibilities where your answer lies. Myself, I am pro choice. That is not the rule of my faith, that is the only possible answer I could have from living my faith. You will find your own truth, and it will be the only possible answer for you living your faith. Do not blindly accept another's ruling on this issue. Life and death decisons are rare, and should be taken seriously. They are also complex, and the choices that are real to you cannot be seen or judged by another person because they cannot know what it is to be you facing that choice. Only you know your choices, only you know your resources and abilities, only you can judge what your reaction to the choice will be. The gods are wise enough to not tie your hands with book rules, and let you decide. Your answer may also change over time, because both you and your circumstances will as well. |
