An oil worker in an Arab country sent me this article, which had horrified him.
Brommundt also described widespread but previously unseen abdominal injuries that appear minor at first but degenerate within hours causing multi-organ failure.

"It seems to be some sort of explosive... that disperses tiny particles... that penetrate all organs"

Dr Jan Brommundt

"Initially everything seems in order... but they will present within one to five hours with an acute abdomen which looks like appendicitus but it turns out on operation that dozens of miniature particles can be found in all of their organs," he said.

"It seems to be some sort of explosive or shell that disperses tiny particles at around 1x1 or 2x1 millimetres that penetrate all organs, these miniature injuries, you are not able to attack them surgically."

The doctors said many patients succomb to septicaemia and die within 24 hours.
~Al Jazeera~

G'day bubbysmommy:

Genocide.

According to doctors, who treated the thousands of injured, and the more than 1,000 dead Palestinians, one of the weapons that figured in the 22-day bombardment of Gaza was the DIME bomb—dense inert metal explosive—which causes horrifying injuries. It is composed of tungsten and high-tensile steel alloys called HTMAs which, according to a 2005 Department of Health report, can cause cancer. The weapon was developed by the U.S. military

Hi Ranger, I moved this thread from the Death Penalty Board to your board
since the topic involves issues relating to the Middle East and not the
nature of true Death Penalty issues.

Thanks & regards,

The development of DIME bombs and other weapons forbidden by the civilized world is a tragedy perpetrated by the US military and its' corporate accomplices.

It is not only a discussion for this board, as the Israeli invasion of Gaza was an opportunity to test new weaponry on innocent civilians, but, also a discussion for US News and Politics - as it involves the use of US taxpayer money to develop and test ever more barbaric WMDs.

It's hard to imagine anyone sitting in a lab or room somewhere, thinking this kind of thing up, much less figuring out how to make it real.

You'd think smart people who want to devote their life's work to developing WMD would at least spend their energies and god-given talents on developing weapons that don't tear the flesh, burn flesh to the bone, or infect organs, and cause human suffering.

There is profit in causing suffering, this much we know.  Maybe one of these days the US and Israel will have a weapon that just vaporizes human beings they don't like.  Poof -- and they're gone.

Dear johndavid23:

A military-industrial complex.

Total world spending on military expenses in 2006 was $1.158 trillion US dollars. Nearly half of this total, 528.7 billion US dollars, was spent by the United States. The arms industry is also involved in significant research and development of military technology. The privatization of the production and invention of military technology in the US leads to a complicated relationship. In this relationship, the Pentagon is the buyer and war industries are the seller.

An outstanding contribution to science.

Grigory Mairanovsky (1899–1964) was a Soviet biochemist and poison developer.

He was head of secret laboratories in the Bach Institute of Biochemistry in Moscow (1928-1935). As the head of Laboratory No. 1 of the NKVD (1938-1946), he initiated the secret "scientific" poison program conducted by the Soviet secret police services. He used political prisoners for experiments with poisons. His classified PhD thesis defended in 1940 was entitled "Biological activity of the products of interaction of mustard gas with [human] skin tissues".

A tradition of enthusiastic institutional participation.

Forty-four American colleges or universities, 15 research foundations or chemical or pharmaceutical companies and the like including Sandoz (currently Novartis) and Eli Lilly & Co., 12 hospitals or clinics (in addition to those associated with universities), and 3 prisons are known to have participated in MKULTRA.

Dehumanization is the process by which members of a group of people assert the "inferiority" of another group through subtle or overt acts or statements. Dehumanization may be directed by an organization (such as a state) or may be the composite of individual sentiments and actions, as with some types of de facto racism. State-organized dehumanization has been directed against perceived racial or ethnic groups, nationalities (or "foreigners" in general), religious groups, genders, minorities of various sexual orientations (eg. homosexuals), disabled people as a class, economic [e.g. the homeless] and social classes, and many other groups.
