I was stalked by Teen Challenge at Walmarts last mointh begging me to give money for their foundation and using Jesus and the church as a reason to give.
I was there twice in my midtwenties and they said I wasnt bad enough to be there because most women there are convicted felons, most are repeat offenders and or repeat offender drug addicts/dealers and alchoholics. Thats fine, i know we have to have halfway hosues to rehab people, all be it I dont see what good its doing anyone. They had occupational therapy doohickeys they were selling that the convicts had made in therapy selling them giving the money to the house and the convicts. i complained to management and another guy told me he wasnt giving an dsaid he would have complained if hed knwon more about it too. When leaving the guy said something to them about it and they just replied :"Its a Christainc harity the churches give to it" as he wa shrugging. Obviously he thinks Christaintiy is a free for all cop out system to make it ok to aks for donations for convicts. I think its rediculous and a travesty that in this day and age we have to worry about Teen Challenge guys stalking us at Walmarts to give money to convicted felons and drug addicts and its extreme. Although I realize they need therapy and rehab, its not helping them to have everything given to e places, but to have them beg me for money at Walmarts! Good grief. |

You've got to be kidding me? Just don't give if you feel so tormented contributing to
this cause. Jeepers, you make it sound like they bonked you on the head and stole your walnut. They weren't begging for a handout, if you wanted to give, you got a little trinket in return. What's your real issue? Sounds to me like it's a lot deeper (within you) than just a bunch of former prisoners doing their thing at Walmart. Sorry hate to be so frank, but the tone of your writing was pretty ill-spirited. |

The prison ministries are just like any other business besides the Lord said if you did it not for the least of these you did it not for me. Don't look at the people look at the cause.
