Is abortion murder? YES! The reason that most of the people on your video responded as they did, probably has a whole lot to do with the fact that we are not trying to be vindictive to woman who have abortions. All we want is the murdering of babies stopped. If it ever became illigal then, yes woman (and the "doctors" who perform the abortions) would probably go to prison, the same as if they killed a 7 year old or a 40 year old, but that is not really our concern. Our only goal is to stop , what we know is murder. God tells us in the Bible, that He knows us before we were born and that He has plans for us while we are in our mothers womb! You can't get any clearer than that. And for the poster who says that it's her right to do with her body what she wants, it's not your body that you're killing. if it was your body, it would suicide. It's your baby's body

What if His plan is that the fetus never be born? How do you KNOW that God doesn't want this? Do you have a direct line to Him? Did He tell you?

If it was God's choice for the baby to not be born, the mother would not be pregnant in the first place.

And...Yes, I have a direct line to God, as all of us do. It is called the Bible...and prayer.

Really? Where does it say what you just said in your previous post? What passage, exactly, says that? The bible is NOT His word. It's the interpretation of his word by ancient old MEN, based on stories handed down through the years. And... I notice you conveniently failed to answer my "Did He tell you?" question.

I did answer his question. God tells us what His word is in the Bible. If you don't believe that the Bible is God's word, then you aren't going to listen to anything that any of us ,that do believe, it is God's word.

What might concern you and other taxpayers is how much it would cost to incarcerate every woman who has an abortion. The cost of incarcerating a prisoner in the US for a year varies from state to state. In federal prisons, the cost is a little over $23,000 per year per inmate. In Connecticut it's over $44,000. Even halfway houses cost something like $19,000 per year per convict. Let's use the more conservative figure of $23,000 per year. It was estimated that in 2005 there were 1.2 million abortions in the US. Not long ago, a pro-life poster here pointed out that that is likely an underestimate. And of course, not every woman having an abortion would be "caught." So let's say half a million women are caught in a given year, and convicted of murder. If you multiply half a million by $23000 you get $11.5 billion. So we could potentially add $11.5B to our current $60B per year spent on incarceration. The average duration of jail time for those convicted of murder in the US is about 22 years. So the cost of keeping one woman who is convicted of abortion, given your scenario, would be on the order of $500,000. And of course we haven't considered here the additional costs to the criminal justice system of additional police work and court expenses, the cost to families of having mom locked up and therefore unable to work, and so on. |
