Shamelessly grabbed from their website:
"Women for Women International supports women in war-torn regions with financial and emotional aid, job-skills training, rights education and small business assistance so they can rebuild their lives." More info on "What We Do": http://www.womenforwomen.org/what.htm I signed up to sponsor a woman just this past week. I'll be updating my Journal < http://community.beliefnet.com/?page_id … 1196855715 > with the information about my new sister and how the program progresses. I'll also try to remember to update this thread with links to the journal postings. Namaste. |

I am so happy for you TAU. I have been sponsoring for 2 years now and have been deeply moved by my sisters and their courage. I will follow your journal updates. My latest sister is in Iraq.

Thanks! I'd love to hear more about your experiences as well. I've been accepted into the program but not matched as of yet. I'm looking forward to "meeting" my sponsored woman.
