Back when Bosom Buddies was originally airing, my bet on who woulld have the bigger career was also on Peter Scolari. It was the film  Splash that got the ball rolling for Hanks, although Scolari did do a few seasons of Newhart.

As for the fundraiser--being on stage with Bill O"Reilly was satire. Not the best one, but it was for a fundraiser--8 years ago.
