Actually, hardcore Republicans should be praising the Muppets. Having little to no money is a running gag throughout their history. The Electric Mayhem, arguably the best band in the world, is always talking about not getting paid. Now, these characters don't get government handouts. They are well-loved WITHOUT profits (well, they'll have some after this movie's run, anyway), proving that the can-do American spirit of being awesome while broke proves that most poor people are just lazy, when they could easily just strum a banjo and be famous.
Yes, the movie involves a corrupt businessman (actually, it's more like he's irritated for some bad childhood memories, not the fact he's an oilman). However, do the Muppets get taxpayers' money just handed to them? No! They let the charity of the American public help them out. True, they fell short of the needed million by, like, 900,000 dollars or something, but the point is that, by virtue of the tried and true American generosity, they STILL lost their Theater! Those weren't fans thronging the street at the end: that was the Tea Party arguing that the Muppet Studio was a liberal, well, "puppet!"
[/sarcasm]
Seriously, though, this movie's hilarious. Frigshipping forever! <3
Knock and the door shall open. It's not my fault if you don't like the decor.
Why isn't the Right targeting their interspecies romance? It's against the law of God and nature.
Or Gonzo and Camilla? We can't have aliens breeding with our God-made chickens.
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells, While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep, In hollow halls beneath the fells.
For ancient king and elvish lord There many a gloaming golden hoard They shaped and wrought, and light they caught To hide in gems on hilt of sword. - J.R.R. Tolkien

A conservative is someone who believes that firefighters, teachers, and police officers are overpaid.
"Wesley told the early Methodists to gain all they could and save all they could so that they could give all they could. It means that I consider my money to belong to God and I see myself as one of the hungry people who needs to get fed with God’s money. If I really have put all my trust in Jesus Christ as savior and Lord, then nothing I have is really my own anymore."
Republicans experience suffering the way they experience all their virtues, i.e. vicariously.
According to "just war" standards of Christian theology, if Saddam Hussein killed 30,000 Iraqis, and the Iraq War killed 120,00, how was the War "just"?
The Frog and the Pig decided to comment on Fox News' story a few months ago that their new movie had a dangerous liberal message to it.
I couldn't have said it any better than the Muppets.
