I was wondering if anyone watches CBS's "Person of Interest." It stars Jim Caviezel("The Passion of the Christ") and Michael Emerson(abc's "Lost").

I think that it's pretty sad and pretty unbelievable that there are so many healthy, powerful, and healing foods that I have learned about from watching "The Doctor Oz Show"...but unfortunately, most Americans from their childhood on up, have only learned how to eat what is essentially equivalent to 'garbage'...and are basically in a 'slumber' when it comes to not having a clue as to what that kind of food is doing to their bodies and to their health. It's really sad.

Yes, pretty good show. I haven't missed Burn Notice for years on USA, but this year it coincided with Person of Interest. I picked Person of Interest (I don't record programs)...... (And then they moved Burn Notice to 10:00, wonder why?)...........The two programs are actually somewhat similar........

Really? You know, when I had cable, I don't think that I ever watched a full episode of "Burn Notice," although, I think it's in syndication now on regular stations.

But I started watching "Person of Interest" about 3 or 4 episodes into the season after someone had told me that it was a good show. ...Have been very impressed by it since.

I've been meaning to catch this show ever since it debuted this season - but I've yet to see an episode.  The title sounds intriguing and the previews for this season looked good.

I know I could look this up anywhere online but I'd rather hear it from folks here who watch the show.  What's the premise of the show?  And who are the eponymous persons of interest?  I gather they vary from episode to episode, but that's all I know.

Hi, Merope. :-) Those are very good questions.

The premise of the show is that after we entered into the new era that we're in after the 9/11 attacks, the government built this very sophisticated machine that watches everyone, every hour of the day for the purpose of preventing anymore terriost attacks in the United States.

However, after awhile the government abandoned the machine, but Harold Finch(Michael Emerson[who I think might have been one of the co-creators of the machine]) decided to continue to use the machine for the purpose of saving people's lives by means of the data that the machine gives him, which informs him about people who have been targeted to be killed(and thus, you have the eponymous person or persons of interest).

Also, Finch needed a partner to help him accomplish what he wanted to do, so somehow he found John Reese(Jim Caviezel), who "is a presumed dead former-United States Delta Force operative and CIA officer." Also, here is some more information about him:

personofinterest.wikia.com/wiki/John_Ree...

But what's makes the show interesting is that with the usual initial situation of finding the 'person of interest' who has been targeted to be killed, and the usual effort to try to save that person, the story always turns out totally different than how you would have expected the story to turn out.

Also, the stories are very well written and deal more with the 'human' element of the situation, rather than just the violence/action aspect of the story that you would expect to see.

Have to bump this up again to say that I'm really loving this show. Also, I'm happy that it's a hit show that rates in the top 10 because there's nothing worse than to like a show that gets low ratings...and then the show gets yanked. Smile

Also, I like that Finch has a female nemesis who equal to him. Kind of like a super villain or villainess. Plus, I am looking forward to seeing what they're going to do with this character.

I like this show a lot.  It's one of the 2 or 3 shows I watch at all.
