there was a wealthy man who had worked very hard during his life. when it was his time to go he couldnt leave his gold behind. he prayed to god one day and ask if he could bring it up to heaven. god responded"yes you may pack only one suitcase". so the man went to find his biggest suitcase for his gold. when he reached the gates to heaven st. paul said that he could not bring the suitcase into heaven. the man was crushed and told him that he had asked god and he had said he could. st. paul looked at his list and said " oh yes i see now, but i must see what u couldnt bear to leave behind." the man opened the suitcase for st. paul. st. paul looked inside and saw the bars of gold and looked back at the man with wide eyes and said " you brought more pavement for the road?."
