I wonder if anyone is looking forward to the new Star Trek movie as much as I am. One more week and counting. Have you bought your ticket yet? I'm going out later today to get mine.

I don't know where you live but I live in the Bay Area, Calif. In our news paper they had an article showing people dressing up in costume for the Star Trek movie. Any body planning on doing that?

I'm an old school TOS Trekkie, and yet I'm really looking forward to this. I hear a lot of Trekkies are outraged by its apparent makeover of the ST mythos, but I guess I just don't care. Plus I'm not really a Trekkie in the sense that I've invested 90% of my life's psychic energy closely following every single detail of the Trek universe or getting involved in bitter disputes over who's better, Kirk or Picard or Picard's No. 1 (name?) or Spock, etc. I think haters had better get over it, cuz I think this will be awfully good, and probably a pretty big hit.

I plan to be there first thing tomorrow morning. Already got my ticket. :-)
I always remember that for every word typed there is a real person sitting behind the keyboard.

I saw this yesterday and plan on seeing it again today. Obviously, I loved it. What surprised me the most was how funny this movie was, particularly after the ponderously humorless self importance of the other Trek movies. Karl Urban as McCoy was especially notable in this regard, but the entire cast was spot on. This is one of those rare summer block-busters where the interactons between characters are more engrossing than the action scenes. I hope it makes lots of money so we can see these actors together again. Not flawless, though. There are plot holes you can drive a star ship through and absurd coincidences, all signs of lazy writing. There is also a pointless bit of slap stick in the engine room at Scotty's expense that I could have done without.

I'm not awaiting the new StarTrek film~I'm awaiting the prequel to "TheDaVinciCode": Angels & Deamons that's coming out next Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that StarTrek is going to be real big~a blockbuster in movie termanolgy!!! We'll see what the numbers say on Monday~after the weekend boxoffice numbers are counted and such. I would think it would bring in something like 100M+ in it's first weekend!

I love this movie! It's a bit disturbing how much Zachary Quinto looks like the Spock from the original series. He IS Spock!
