I absolutely did NOT see that coming! I think I read in an interview that he was pretty surprised at the route they chose for him to go....guess that means that if ever he decides to leave politics, he can't go back to House :(

And yah...still wrapping my head around KUMAR being a White House liaison!!!

I hadn't heard any hints of his leaving the series so it came as a complete surprise to me. And I must admit that I was a little bit creeped out when they showed the url for the goodbye Kutner website. I thought the actor had died in real life. I had a little problem when I went to post some comments in the memorial. I never did figure out how to do it.

I first heard news report of the Kutner character going away & Penn getting a job in the Obama admin, on ABC "World News Now" overnight.  That was exactly how they phrased it:  "He's going to be a liaison to Hollywood."  That overnight news show can be really cheesy & exhibit piss poor journalism, but that is what they said.

I 1 billion, trillion percent support Obama, particularly over the previous idiot Shrub, but I do get kind of weirded out by all Obama's ongoing pop culture participation, appearing on the Tonight Show, making hay of his NCAA basketball tournament bracket, making "news" about some obscure character actor becoming "liaison" between Hollywood & Washington DC.  It all seems very bizarre to me.

I don't know how much news it made?  There were mentions the day after his last episode on House, but other then that, most folks don't know....there are still folks on the House message boards that have to be talked down because they are still convinced the actor himself has died.

And I see nothing wrong with the marriage of popularity (pop) and Obama's administration.  Its a breath of fresh air after the lies of the last 8 yrs and cheney and so on imho....to see the new, youthful, open president engaging the public, being accessible, being....fun when appropriate, makes people at ease.

I was a bit pissed off about it....I thought for sure it w/b the other being depressed and unhappy at being duped by a con.  I wasn't happy about it at all.

Did he really die in real life?  B/c at the end last night it showed his pic, and I didn't hear what they said, so why would he be killed off in this show?  I enjoyed his banter w/House, and was rather annoyed by the other guy at his fighting about any diagnosis?

No the actor who portrayed Kutner, is NOT dead....he has accepted a job in the Obama administration.

Kal Penn, 31, who played Kutner, and Kumar in the Harold & Kumar series, will be an associate director for the Obama administration's Office of Public Liaison

So, who else is devasted that Kutner committed suicide on House M.D.?  Who else see's Taub as having more of a problem with grief over this since he stole credit for the "diagnosis" last week that Kutner made?

I expected we'd see a death soon, but I think we all expected it to be Thirteen, then when we Zigged, Fox Zagged
