I was very saddened to hear of Cyd Charisse's death. She was a true talent from a bygone era. I loved her in "Singing in the Rain" and all those other great Hollywood musicals. Time for a Cyd Charisse retrospective. Sadly, they don't make 'em like that anymore, and they never will again.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Tim Russert's passing. He was an eloquent newsman, and even though I didn't know him personally, I had tremendous respect for him. I try not to get too worked up over celebrities dying, but it's hard not to be stunned when it happens.

Life is precious, no one is immortal, and as difficult as it is sometimes, we need to make every moment count.
