I am guessing you have no children.  Yes, I do think your post was extremely insensitive.  You state that you have lost several friends/family to suicide.  Did you know they were having trouble coping?  Do you know the trouble signs?  Have you done any research into the reasons people take their lives?  Did you reach out to any of them when they reached out for help (they all do - just sometimes can't see it until it's too late)?   Do you care about the loved ones who were left behind?
