Sadly, the cardinal of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Maryland says legalization of same-sex marriage threatens families.  I find this very sad because this comment fails to recognize that same-sex marriages are families.

The cardinal has promised that the archdiocese will work to overturn the law.

I'm so damn tired of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church getting involved in American politics and interferring with American law. Each Catholic cloistered religious who lives separated from the world and devotes his or her life to contemplation and prayer is of more value than 10,000 bishops and priests.

So, any couple that cannot create children is just "playing house"? The elderly are just playing house?

I thought that Regressives want "limited" or "small" government? Then in order to do that you are going to have to get the government OUT of peoples sex lives and treat everyone equally. Marriage equality IS part of a small government. So, make up you minds; do you want a small government or not?

Oh, here we go again. I understand that you hate gay people. What I don't understand is why you have the sickening bad taste to mention it. Keep it to yourself.

Stop throwing it on my face and I will keep it to myself.

Modern chemistry can imitate  any flavor. They are even trying to imitate meat. And some people have come up with the idea of imitating "marriage" or "families".  But they are missing some ingredients. That is why they are imitations.  An imitation is an aproximation of the real thing. To have the real thing one  would have to have all the ingedients that goes into making  the real thing.

Bread is made with flour.  One can use lime and give it the form of bread, but it would not be "bread", although some people would like to call it bread.

This is not hating gay people.  Is is seeing the stupidity of imitation. Just be nice gays and stop pretending to be something else.

Keep it to yourself anyway. It's none of your damned business.

Another thing - I'm sick of you lying gaybashers saying you don't hate gay people. You do, and you ought to have the courage to admit it. Why add hypocrisy to bigotry?

“imitation meat ”has been around for several decades.  Texturized Vegetable protein(TVP) iss  used for making hamburgers, meatballs, Bacon,    Nutrient  wise it is as good as meat,  more economical and  when prepared right most people could not tell the difference between TVP and meat..

Why should the world not progress just because YOU don't like it?

That has nothing to do with marriage equality.

This is not hating gay people.

It is pure hatred. You are denying a group of people something just because YOU do not like the way they have sex. That is hatred.

It is certainly based on gender, not caring or any other characteristics. Those other  unions are friendships. Fine in it's own level.

You can be as creative as you want, but  the real meaning  is  derived from the union of two opposites: a positive  and a negative, a male and female elements, which creates a third  element, a child. That is what the whole marriage and family things are based on. Two positives or two negatives do not produce anything. They just imitate or make believe.

Good for Maryland. Slowly but surely, the good guys are winning. How many states is that now?

So, how then do you explain the fact that we let non-procreative heterosexual couples marry?

Why is there NO mention of children - making them, adopting them. raising them, the ability or the intention of having them - in the application for a marriage license?

Sorry. The ONLY purpose of marriage is to establish legal kinship where none existed previously.

Everything else is personal.

Try again. But do better.
